What is this??

  1. My plant is healthy but I have never seen this before. It’s an almost 8 weeks old Platinum OG. I was doing a last big defoliation before switching to flower and noticed these weird leaf mutations. Has anyone ever seen this? This is my plant after defoliation.

Mutant. Some will even grow a bud in that spot.

  3. Weird. But cool. I’ve had mutations that have had to do with size. This is much better. Do you think I defoliated enough?

  4. I don't but then I grow outside so it's not really an issue for me.

  5. Just watch for pollen sacks. Otherwise, its just a cool freak of nature.

  6. This is how much I defoliated already. I’ve defoliated about three times and it grows back fast. Do pinprick holes count as light leakage?

  8. Probably. Just throw a blanket over the tent and all should be good

  9. 100%, I have an Orange Velvet Underground doing the same exact thing, except it's actually growing buds and new leaves from the same spots where the petiole meets the leaf. Will snag some pics of her when I get home.

  10. Also I have no idea if there is any truth to this or not, but I have read multiple accounts where mutants end up being potent as hell. Keeping my fingers crossed that is the case for both of us.

  11. They can. They can also be shit. Just like any plant from a seed.

  13. How old is your plant?

  14. Sadly I haven't kept track at all this time, but I think right around 2 months veg and about 4 weeks since flip.

Here's mine for a comparison, as you can see multiple leaves, calyxes and pistils all from the same spot where the petiole meets the leaf. Other then the mutation plant seems perfectly healthy and fine no issues with her at all.

  15. Here's a shot of the whole plant and a couple bud angles to get an idea for how far along she is. She is in a 10gal fabric pot with no-till soil

  16. That’s exactly like mine! I’m interested to see if there’s a difference with this one. The leaf bud is so weird!

  17. That looks great! What strain is that? Mine is almost nine weeks old in a five gallon fabric pot. I’m used to growing autos and I didn’t think about how big it would get. How tall is your plant?

  18. Wow! have defoliated my plant several times. The top pic was after defoliation on Saturday. Bottom is today. I’ll probably do another defoliation in the first couple of weeks in flower. My plant may be a mutant but she’s a happy mutant. I can’t wait to see if I get flowers on the leaves.

  19. For sure, one difference I see right off the bat, is that yours is growing new petioles from that spot where mine has only produced new leaves without the petiole. Should be fun to see how the two of them finish out.

  20. She is an Orange Velvet Underground from Ethos, currently sharing a 4x4' tent with Skunk Hero and 2 Member Berries also from Ethos. They were mainlined/manifolded and then sadly I flipped them before letting them get tall enough so they are all fairly short. I will take some pics of the whole grow and some side shots so you can get an idea for how tall she is, when my lights come on.
