Exactly how much ambering is the right amount? I don't want them to pass their peak Are their any other signs to look out for? Also my plants don't really smell that much, could that just be the strain...
CXE, What ya wanna look for is when they are about 70-80% amber or redish in color, that is when you want to harvest. Now about the smell of the plants it could very well only be the strain you are growing ands that may be the reason they are not smelling too much, another factor which is a good one might be that you have propoer ventilation in the room and the smell is exscaping the room and therefor the smell is not as noticable.
another thing to observe is if the buds seem to be dying back faster than growing from the top.... Take a bud out of the grow area once,,it will smell very well then,,,,I assure you,,,every strain has an odor,,whether it is heavy or light....have fun
