what is the prefect grow room ?

Discussion in 'Grow Room Design/Setup' started by tazz11, May 2, 2019.

  1. now we all know the idea of a prefect grow room is always been a heated debate .. so lets take the time to set the story straight once and for all .. time & and space . yes that's what I said .. how much time do you have and how much space do have to spend it in ... years ago I set aside a 14 by 8 ft room for my breeding ...I had been a grower from 1971 and knew what wanted and how to build it the way it should be ...a lot of work and planning goes into a grow room but a breeder has twice as much to risk as a grower ...so I will out line what I learn as I build my system and you will have to watch and learn and build your system for you by learning from some one that hit that prefect condition for those he loves ....at first nothing ways right .. this was wrong that was wrong I needed this and this and some of those a few of these and the list went on for days and weeks and years .. one day . I step back and say what they did not need me to come and take care of them today .. when you reach that point where they are so happy being where they are they no longer need your help then you have reach the prefect grow room ...you will get so good at knowing your strains you can make changes with out disrupting them at all ...then you will realize they are like the clay in your hands .. you can make them anything you want ...you start to share their feelings as if they were part of you and they react to who you are and how you reflect that a pone them ...cost ? what cost if you learn to love them their is no cost to big ...risk . your freedom or theirs ...?
how far can you take it . how far can they take you ..you want to learn and they are more then willing to teach you every step of the way . so who has the feet and who needs them ...?
a long the way I knew I would find a way to set them free and they showed me what freedom was ...9,039 photo rooms of gals . from 6-8 to 504 ...10's of thousands of plants came and went ,year after year, 2 grows some years 8-10 grows the next .. a endless will to learn the hidden ways of the breeder... long ago I told myself there is no master breeders . boy was wrong back then ...I was blind once for 30 days , nothing other then darkness and I went to the grow room and set down to cry and realized they were watching me and crying with me ...that's when I knew what a master breeder was ....where you start has little to do with where you will end up ...what you start with has almost nothing to do with how far you will go .. faith in your self and the will to learn and know when they are teaching you ...prefect has flaws and flaws can be fixed if you think you can ...some times the path changes for them or you .. are you willing to learn when or to stay the path ...if you build it they don't always want to grow the way you want them to .. do you really want robot weed ? or do you want the real living spirit of the strains to show them self's to you ... a room is just a room ..prefect is just a opinion, a master is the slave of his own work ...! he gives his life to care those that need his skills and wisdom .. from the never ending darkness to the light cycle of perfection your path is yours to build and under stand as you learn and they are willing to be the finest teachers you will ever know ...

20190425_203314.jpg so here we are we have a 14 by 8 . 6'6" high ... 21 root spa 7 chains of 7 feeding into a flow & grow controller box . its feeding in and out of a main 55 gallon drum that has a added on 55 gallon push pull system .. with 1 1/2" connection tube with cut off , the main drum has a drum band type heater that is fully automated for root temp .. so the buckets have heated root water ...,now I am a cold temp breeder so my room is often much cooler then most but you don't want your roots cold ...the room runs a main Auto pilot environmental controller it controls air filtration as well as fresh air cooling ..I do not use air conditioners for room cooling , the room has a heater but is seldom needed .. the lights are ran by a Auto pilot light controller . I have twin main LED at 1200 watt Blue red and 6 x 1000 watt full spectrum ,all lights are on one timer ,and as a breeder I have twin 1000 watt HPS/MH and twin 600watt HPS/MH as back up . some strains like different lighting . so don't throw away your lighting it comes in handy when needed ...Co2 a heated debate topic but a simple one to fix and set up correctly .. the tank has a regulator set at 2m ,that regulator is plugged into a Auto pilot CO2 controller and it is plugged into the Environmental controller ..3 part Automated system . works great ...the main idea with CO2 is lets your environmental controller control fresh air into your room using this for cooling isolated my CO2 from reacting to the room temp ...or the lights even if the light kick on or off . the CO2 controller will react to the lights going on or off but the lights going on or off will not change the rate of CO 2 in the room , the reason I do this is to stop the room temp from controlling how much CO2 my co 2 system puts out ..you don't want your CO2 to run in dark cycle ..you want the environmental controller to control the environment not the rate of CO2 ...and you don't want the rate of CO2 controlled by your light cycle ...or room temp., I see a lot of growers wanting to put their CO2 on a timer to let it kick on some time after the lights this is crazy . if your Co2 is on a controller that not needed if its set up correctly .. the Co2 controller can be set at the reg for 2 m . and it take about a hour for the room Co2 to reach that 2 m level .so is no logic in trying to time the CO2 for delay ..see if you plugged the reg in to the Auto pilot it will only turn on the CO 2 when it the levels get to your setting on auto pilot ..so the rate is set by the 2m on reg and the auto pilot controls the CO2 you set for high and low settings and the environmental controller kick the CO2 autopilot on and off as the room needs it ,I tried a few ways to set up Co2 and this works the best ...for me ...now on to buckets I used the standard root spa with some modes , flat 4 inch air stones and the bucket are design to have 1 1/2 inches of water at all times in the bottom of the buckets see where they have their sighting tube up the out side of their root spa . I went a crossed from there on the other side of the bucket and 1 /1/2 inches up from the bottom and added a 3/4 inch hole for water feed in and out of the bucket added a flow table screen and linked all the buckets together with 3/4 inch feed this helps your system fill and drain faster and even if your system for some reason was to fail your plants have some back up water in the bottom of the buckets ...
the next step is to explain what the res push pull system is for ... your buckets set up this way use 52 gallons of water to fill them .. add a secondary res and you have a total of 110 gallons ... the idea is that if you add nutrients to the main and the bucket flush in and out the levels will always drop by 1/2 .....now if you want to add something at a slower arte then the main res . add it to the secondary res . like micronize...this also stops flash heat changes in your water temps in cold temps ... the drum heater is only on the main drum .. 300 watt heater .. with Automated temp controller .if you have a pump fail you can cut the cut off feed for the secondary res . this means you can work on the main and not throw out your food solution ,.... this system has run 4 years with no issues at all ...I don't clean the buckets because they are flushed 5 times out of 24 /7 .they are clean enough for growing plants . I can add res cleaner but it really dose not need it .. I don't rise my scrog net I don't have to ,,... once the plant is harvested I can cut it out of the way and remove the roots . I have never had a bucket fail yet .. I have filter 6 inch kick on twice a day . the room filters fresh air in the same way by controller .I can walk away for two weeks with out a problem . I hope soon to add another 55 res to the two I have to make it 15-20 day full Auto ...now I have 21 buckets in the system I can add bags between the RDWC or only use some of the buckets and give the plants more spacing and air flow ....I am not working hard all the time .. and this is how I like it . and if you defoliate your CO2 is next to worthless ...I feed with Rock foliar feeding ,and choice of nutrient is based on what strain needs are at the time ...hope this helps some of you ....if you have any questions just ask ...

  3. some of you will wonder is this the grow room design thread ? what dose your first post got to do with room design ..,,well I would reply in the darkness I wondered why ..I have spent more of my life with plants then humans ...it really has little to do with what your gage looks like .....

  4. How long have you had that particular setup?

  5. 4 years ....

  6. That’s dope! I bet it does well.

  7. solid IBL OLR hybrid dose great one blow and baked ...and It last a long time . it is hybrid with ( AB x SSSDH X G13 x C99 ) I guess the logic is learn everything you can and when you can grow any strain then your ready for the breeding stages .. but you don't need a state of the art to grow good weed .. years ago I wrote a post about growing 9 plants in a 5by 5 space and stated if you can grow them to80% you can grow anywhere and any amount you want to ...the 3by plant square and one in the center dose great ...I grew in dirt and hydro ,rock well anything I could find at the time ... you know what makes a great grow room ,after you grow a few dozen grows step back and get some bag seed and try to grow 2 or 3 plants of that and you will learn a lot ...you will see the difference between hybrid and guessing what the strains past was .. it can be fun it can be a night mare ...lol
