I don't have any tips relevant to today, I haven't been down there since the mid 90's. When I was down there you could pretty reliably get weed from anyone who looked like a stereotypical stoner. I encountered some pretty good bud as well as absolute trash. We spent some time in Guatemala City but not sure we ever picked up any weed there.
