What Is It With Edibles?

Discussion in 'Weed Edibles' started by Deleted member 1153948, Oct 27, 2022.

  1. I was a teenager in the '70s. The weed back then was what Delta 8 is today. Very similar. The only edibles we had back then were pot brownies and that was it. Now you can get almost any type of cookie, candy bar, gummies, etc. I tried a vape pen, bud, and edibles. The vape pen and rolled-up joint had me couch-locked for the rest of the night. But when I tried the chocolate bar, I started slow. I ate one square, about 10mg. Three hours later and nothing. So I went out and smoked some. Two nights later I thought I would try another square. After one hour I was drooling on myself. What happened?

  2. It sounds like your chocolate bar was not mixed very well and one square was more potent than the other.

  3. That's what I thought. Would all edibles be like this? I really don't want to vape because I used to smoke cigarettes and I'm trying to take care of my lungs. Out of towners can only buy 250mg of edibles which wouldn't last me a month. 2 bars and one 50mg jar of gummies when I could get a 1000mg vape pen that would last me a long time. But like I said, I don't like to vape. I really don't know what it is doing to my lungs.

  4. edibles are unpredictable sometimes. I've also had varying results from the same doses.

  5. you'd better find your own perfect edible with the exact proportions that gonna work

  6. Don't make the mistake of thinking Inhaled THC = Eaten. It doesn't work like that. Eaten Cannabis is transformed by your Liver from Delta-9-THC into 11-Hydroxy-THC. This is 5 times stronger and 10 times longer lasting.

A gram of Cannabis (Thumb sized Bud) is 150 milligrams of THC and makes a good pipe load for me with the high lasting 45 minutes. That same 150mg Eaten is a 15 day supply for most people as 10mg is the state limited dose in most places.

Vape pens like their Nicotine counterparts contain VG (Vegetable Glycerin), PG (Propylene Glycol), PEG (Polyethylene Glycol), With some Cannabis concentrate in suspension.

They coat your lungs with Glycerin and made me feel like I was drowning after a couple of weeks of constant use. I went back to just smoking Hash when I needed a "Right Now" pain relief.

Make your own edibles. Make it like medicine and not food. It'll always be an exact dose and you'll know exactly what to expect. Edibles do have a bit of a learning curve but then most things worthwhile do.

  7. We make and consume our own medicinal brownies. I have had the same thing happen with our edibles. I'm thinking that the last thing one ate before a medicated edible may have something to do with edible variability. Im certain that I have read that, but that was many many pages ago.....

  8. he I got my first jar of OG Kush shake, I thought about making brownies, but my daughter said no. They do drug testing at her job and she didn't want to take the risk of getting exposed.

  9. I don't like to vape, but I have no choice if I want pain relief. Besides edibles, vapes are the only thing allowed that my daughter and son-in-law will let me have. They are afraid of me getting busted and bringing the whole house down with me.

I think it's incredible how far the cannabis industry has come regarding product diversity, and edibles are a popular option for many people. However, it's essential to be cautious with dosing, as edibles can be tricky to get right. I've had some great experiences with edibles, but I've also had some not-so-great experiences when I took too much. That's why I prefer CBD hemp oils for relaxation. It's all about finding the right balance and being patient with the onset time.
