what is best to do just before harvest.

    I thought it would be best to go till soil is really dry ie, a day after it would usually get watered - is this good. And I've heard about putting it in cmplete darkness , what will this do? Also any other tips .

    Its a good idea to stop watering your plants just before you harvest because moisture is what you are trying to get rid of when you are drying and curing them, not sure what giving them darkness is supposed to do though.

    I was woundering if I could harvest my buds and keep the plant alive over the winter and start her vegging in the spring? Outdoors in the ground, I would keep her out of the harsh weather with a little green house. Any input?

    48 hours of darkness before you chop puts the plant into shock thinking its about to die...which it is >:] so it starts producing as much resin as it can, a day or 2 of darkness is recommended

    I have 1 tree in a green house.. and my quetions r: how much days before harvest I should stop using ferts? how much days before after I should stop watering?

    That's the great debate right there!
    If your an ultimate purist & you don't care about yield & your in soil.

    7 days in highly airated mediums with more frequent water schedule, 14 days of flushing is the norm though.

    I also read once you don't really need a flush, or maybe just a couple days if your doing a nice long cure

    I forgot to say that I m not using countainers, is on real soil :D

    People do lots of things like this. I have heard that giving plants a few days of darkness prior to switching to 12/12 will jump start the flowering cycle and darkness before harvesting will give you more resin. Not sure either can be proven. I tried a 48 hr dark period before flowering and notice no difference in the time my plants showed sex....so I dont bother....never tried the darkness before harvest.

    If u put your harvested plant back in your grow room Hung up without the lights on and just the fans on - what would people say the ideal temp is?

    Hey, anyone have info on harvesting in the rain? It rained last night and is expected to rain tonight, I don't want to risk any mold but in the same vain, I haven't rinsed the firts out yet. I'm perplexed! I need advise quick!!!

    Don't know about the temp but all I've read suggests a dark, kool, dry place. I've done some in the basement, the girl I have now is going into a "dry box". Just a cardboard box with string to hang the buds from. It's dark and the cardboard absorbs moisture, Idon't think a 10 degree change in temp makes too much differnce but 40 would. Has anybody tried to dry clothes on the line on a cold day? Probably not... well it takes forever.
