What is a "stale" hit, what makes a hit stale?

    Hey guys. I was watching videos of people hitting waterfall and gravity bongs, and have seen comments were people said "Man, I bet that hit was stale."


    I've also smoked with friends who say they don't like waterfall or gravity bongs because the hits taste bad and get too stale.

    I'm about to go hit my Waterfall bong in a little bit and want to know, what is a stale hit? How can I keep my hits from getting stale in the waterfall bong? Thanks!

    If smoke has not been inhaled in a couple seconds it starts to get stale. Didnt read op but usually it is from not correctly clearing bongs.

    well to me a stale hit is like when you take a hit from a bong and you dont clear the smoke and pass to next person, they get a stale hit.

    A stale hit is when the smoke stays in the chamber or tube (bottle in this case) for prolonged periods of time (~5-10 seconds maybe less) after you take a hit. To ensure a fresh hit make sure you clear out the bottle of all smoke before starting to light some more up. With a grav bong there really isn't really a way to get a clean hit.

    It isn't a big deal. Just doesn't taste the greatest/freshest.
