what if you fail a drug test durring a job interveiw?

Discussion in 'Experienced Cannabis Enthusiasts' started by El_capatain, Sep 12, 2006.

  1. I have an interveiw for a job with the company "The Learning Express"
If you have not heard of it, it is a toystore, its aimed at parents who feel better buying little cindy a $70 doll as long as it teaches her the ABC's, instead of a $70 tickle me Elmo

The interveiw is tomorrow, I am not sure if they do a DT. But what would happen if say I failed it? Do I just not get the job? Does someone at some point call the cops?

(I have an identical post in the chillout zone, sorry if you had to read it twice. But its late and this just occured to me)

    I smoked a bowl yesterday

  2. you just wont get the job. i dont think theyre legally allowed to disclose that kinda information. its like a doctor telling the cops youve been smoking.

  3. First of all they probably wont do a test to start of with and if they do and find traces of any substance they probably wont give you the job but im almost 100% sure they dont have the right to involve the police or anyone else.

This applys in my country and im not sure about yours ?

  4. they'll tell you that you didn't pass the drug screen and turn you down for the job. that's it.

  5. you don't get the job.

  6. I'm pretty sure they are legally bound to keep the results of your test private, but if you fail they surely will not hire you.

  7. they must keep test resaults private AND you can always ask for a retest. now i t may be that day

  8. in my experience most employers tell you when a dt is required. They don't want people to apply who get high, cause there is always the possiblity of a false negative just as there is false positives. As far as criminal repercusions, nada nil.

  9. If you test positive you don't get the job. They are not allowed to disclose DT results. Where I worked at over the summer they required I take a DT at a local Urgent Care within 7 days of the initial interview (no DT = no job), and that if it tested positive then I will never be allowed to work there in the future. Good luck.
