Well if the white man didn't show up I don't think any of us would be here to have pow wows or anything. Except for those that are of all native heritage. I mean if you're not native, then you wouldn't be around either..

The use of the phrase tribe is so 19th century . I would have to choose: Anasazi, Chill cliff dweller farmers/hunters that lived in cliff dwellings and kept to themselves, enjoying the beauty of the canyon country. Of course until they mysteriously poofed.

I'm guessing it would probably be better , maybe not as "civilized" as it is now , but better because it would be more like it's suppose to be (without an unavoidable oppressive government) . And the indians were all about nature/earth , so we know what would be legal .

I have a more interesting question. What would America (all of it, not just the States) look like if Europeans hadn't been complete greedy lying scumbag fuckheads and settled peacefully, or even better, just set up trading connections instead of trying (and mostly succeeding) to kill everyone on the continent? I don't think you can really ask "if we never made it" because it was a total inevitability. The Chinese stumbled across it, Vikings sailed to it, and finally Columbus "discovered" it. It was only a matter of time before somebody decided to try to make something of the fact that there was an entire other landmass out there. It's just a pity it had to be ethnocentric, racist Christians. Speaking as the descendant of said greedy fuckheads (Literally: Parts of my family go back to the colonies), of course.
So many things come to mind when I think about this..... I don't want to say I'd be happier if I was still here and the "white man" never came to america, but I can definitely say life would be a hell of a lot more simpler. Shit, even war to the Indians wasn't "real war".. As in the war that the white man has in mind. The Indians view on war was almost like a game to them. They didn't have huge blowout battles like the white man. It was more who had the most powerful members in their tribe which was measured by how many notches you had on your "stick".. I can't remember the real name but it was just a war stick that Indians carried around w/ them and made a notch for each kill. But they would NOT ravage towns and completely annihilate every member of the village like the white man did when we came. Quick tid bit - In columbus's day the term Indian meant cannabils. Because in columbus's journeys to the "new world" he encountered cannibal tribes that hung the flesh of their rival tribes in their tents to dry so they cook them up and have a feast. The chiefe of the tribe inquired to columbus why he does not eat his enemies because human flesh tasted so good. ALSO there were huge towns with over 40,000 residents before america was "discovered". And to answer the question - I'd want to be a member of the Aztec's because I would be the dude killing the human sacrifices and all the rest of you would be the tribes that GIVE us your people to kill for the Gods.

I'm like 1/12 pottawatomie, but if I could pick a tribe I'd like to be in, definately the Seminoles. They're some ruthless guys, and I'm sure I'd follow the rule of kill or be killed back in the day. I'm not gonna lie, I'd be a savage killer.
