That was supposed to be what America is, freedom to do as you wish as long as you don't hurt anyone else, civil liberties, etc. Oh how things went wrong.
The universe and all residing existing beings would implode. Everything would implode, everything would have their own implosion. It would be implosion inside an implosion inside another implosion. Lots of 'sploding, scientifically speaking.
If we start adopting that attitude in earnest, others will follow suit when they see how happy and complete we are. There will always be those who seek power over their fellow men, all we can change is how we react to it. BTW, if your philosophy is "to do as you wish as long as you don't hurt anyone else" then you should check out the Libertarian Party. There are some moonbats in every party, but LP is by far the party with a platform that most closely resembles my personal philosophy. Oh, and read Atlas Shrugged if you haven't...
Yea, I know of a lot of cool Libertarians, like Penn & Teller, and Matt and Trey from South Park Unfortunately in America you have to be Democrat or Republican to be taken seriously...
Yes, unfortunately we have been conditioned with the classic "throwing your vote away" lie that those in power use to support the status quo. I get so pissed at people who vote "for the lesser of two evils." You are supporting what you deem to be evil? I could not look at myself in the mirror if I voted for someone I didn't believe in. Caucuses and primary cycles are starting all over the country (mine is tonight!), get involved and make sure that "evil" candidates never even see their names on a ballot! Support candidates that support your personal liberties and uphold the Constitution.
Green Party is good too, and in my opinion more focused on progressive civil rights than Libertarianism. Libertarians definitely have the advantage as for as fiscal policy goes, but its all about what's more important to you. I have never voted Republican or Democrat, and I certainly don't think that Ive ever "thrown my vote away".
