I have a Yamaha keyboard, Akai LPD 8 drum pad, First Act amp connected to 2 Sony speakers, Numark turntable, & a shit load of vinyl records. I'm into making sampled beats. & as to what I want in the future? I would like to get a behringer mixer & a good audio interface to connect my microphone so I can record vocals.
Ibanez RG2EX2 with an EMG 81 and an EMG 60a (AlNiCo, I think) An Ibanez GAX70 Some decent sounding Yamaha acoustic. As for amps, I have an old Crate G40D and a Peavey Rage 151 I also have a Cremona violin, a Line6 TonePort, Ableton Live, Logic Pro, Audacity, and Garageband. Gotta remember my speakers, too. Some real nice M-Audios, I'm not sure what the full name of them is, though. I want a nice turntable and some good MIDI controllers...
Yea the Ibanez RG is nice and fairly cheap; I was going to get it but I didn't like the neck that much (I tried it again later on and liked it a lot more haha)
Yeah, I love my RG. It sounds sooooo much better with active pups! The neck felt fine to me from the beginning, I guess 'cause I had the GAX first, so I was used to the action already.
ive been playing for several years now, i got a hamer special usa with emg 85 and a peavy active pickup, i play through a marshall mgdfx 100 with the line 6 floor pod pro xt. i found the hamer in a pawn shop several years ago, they had a price on it that was for the hamer slammer, i got it for 200 dollars and had it customized with the pickups refinished with natural stain for mahogony and had jumbo frets put on it.

The Engl powerball is a sick head. And yea My cheap 200$ solidstate isn't very good but whatever - gear isn't cheap..haha
I like solidstate amplifiers. Granted I do miss the warmth of tube but I grew up playing solidstate and love the saturation. I owned a Genz Benz El Diablo for awhile but it just did'nt do it for me. The Hot Rod DeVille is the only tube amp I've hung onto.
I'm probably going to get a small tube combo amp to have one just for screwing around. Solidstates have some advantages though; they are generally lighter and more affordable and (some) still sound pretty good.
I was peeping the new Marshall 5 watt tube combo's. Alot of manufacturers are getting into the under 10 watt combo tube amps. You can crank them and get that killer tube tone and not blow up your neighbor's cat.
