What effects marijuana tolerance?

Discussion in 'Beginner Cannabis Consumption & Tips' started by Cradsbury, Dec 23, 2010.

  1. My friend told me that it's easier for someone who is short and lightweight to get high than it is for someone who is tall and muscular. Is this true? Because I'm pretty shrimpy, 107 lbs., and about 5"4, so I've considering to start working out. Would this make it harder for me to get high?

  2. How often you smoke.
    Major Factor.

  3. The more you smoke, the harder it gets to get high. That's what tolerance breaks are for, though.

  4. arnold schwarzenegger used to (probably still does...) smoke. i really dont think size has anything to do with it

  5. I think tolerance has something to do with how saturated the cannabinoid receptors in your brain are. But there is no way working out is going to make you suddenly more tolerant. If anything, smoking after working out gets you higher

  6. Maybe having a body with more mass means that you would get higher slightly slower than a person with less mass.
Because the thc has to flow through a greater deal more body mass before getting to the brain. You would not become any less high though

Just how I think of it, anyway :)

  7. I'm talking out of my ass right here, I have no idea if this is true..

I think it depends mostly on strain. If you're smoking the same strain with the same cannnaboid and THC levels every time you're always dealing with the same transmitors, try going after different strains.

i'm high as balls on edibles i hope that made sense

  8. Just because he can smoke doesn't mean he's getting as high as he possibly can.

Cannabis is stored in your fat cells. You work out, you lose fat, therefore you lose the cannabis stored in your body, therefore you can get higher easier.

So OP, it's actually better to work out and smoke than it is to be a lazy fat stoner sitting around all day.

  9. nobody mentioned marijuana yet?....ok, marijuana. or cannabis, herb, pot, maryjane if you like.

  10. How much you smoke and how frequently you smoke. THC is stored in fat, so it would make sense that a fat person would get less high than someone with less bodyfat. Also I have friend who is about 6'2", 250 lbs, plays rugby. He smokes maybe 2-3 times a week and gets completely blown off maybe .2g of dank. I'm 100 lbs lighter and need about 1g to get to that level of high. So your high is probably affected by metabolism too.

  11. Working out will actually make your high more intense because your body would be burning fat which is where some of the THC is stored thus dropping your tolerance not a lot but very little, and the same goes for waiting time as time goes on ur tolerance will decrease as THC is eliminated form the body, your friend's thoughts couldn't be more wrong anyone of any size with no tolerance can smoke the same amount and get high, now this could change over time because of body size same goes for pain medicine a 100 lb guy isn't going to get the same dose as a 200lb guy is but it will be dose relative to their weight which in the end is the same amount increased for the lighter weight people. So no different sizes won't require more/less to smoke body mass doesn't effect that.
