What does redlight do for plant

  1. Hello everyone I have some plants under afew cfl's. Now I have a red cfl bulb and I heard there good for flowering, So does that mean there good for the night cycle can someone tell me more about them?

  2. If it's a red reptile uv bulb it'll increase resin production

  3. If its actually red it won't help anything, its out of the plants spectrum. When people refer to the red spectrum they mean between around 2k and 3k in color temperature, not actually red CFL's.

You should be using CFL's that are around 2700k for flowering, as the redder spectrum may help the plant flower.

  4. How do you tell how many k's the bulb is.

  5. A red light and a red spectrum light are 2 very different lights...a plain red light is prolly useless..

Daylight is 2700k and soft white is 6500k, or something like that. Soft white is for vegging.

  7. on the container of bulbs is the "kelvin temp rating" thats what they mean
