  1. Could Katrina be the beginning of the end?

I mean look at it down there. Its horrible!!! There are children playing next to dead bodies, and they say thats not even the bad part. These people are being shipped to other cities, left off the bus and told to find medical help. Where? The astrodome is overrun, the hospitals are overrun, motels booked. Some of these people dont even have money.

The people that are still in New Orleans cant get any help. The police officers are worried for their lives if they go in there. The ambulances arent goin in there without the police officers. So chaos is starting to break out there. Will it spread? Whats goin to happen, noone was prepared for it to be this bad, even though they should have been prepared.

They knew the levees wouldnt hold up. They knew once the electric failed, the pumps would quit working. They knew New Orleans would flood out. Why werent they more prepared for it. Why werent troops sent down for the hurricane hit to help out.

  2. this reminds of the film 'escape from LA'

  3. Could Katrina be the beginning of the end?
    short answer: no
where the hell were you when shit went down in other countries.. you think the US is the only country on the planet? go give a shit about someone else for a change.. boohoo, that's what you get for choosing to live in a climatically violent place, Jesus
    peace

  4. Yeah it's bad down there now, but they'll rebuild, I have no doubt about that. Order will be restored. The recent tsunami fucked up an area way worse (there was no prep, N.O. knew about the hurricane a few days in advance) but they are rebuilding too. Also I think they prepared pretty well actually, they had every evacuate or move to a safer area. And yeah, people are being raped and killed... that's happens every day in every major city regardless of any other factors.

  5. Im glad you guys have faith in this country. Im not so sure I do anymore. Bush doesnt care. He only cares about himself and his working vacations. Hes not doing all he can.

  6. It's a bit shocking to see the violence and disaster slowly striking closer to home though. Even if they do rebuild, New orleans will be off the map in a few years, the gulf coastline is eroding extra fast. It's probly not the beggining of the end, rather the end of a certain way of life. The western powers are kinda like Rome at its end, with the barbarians knocking at the door. Then again, next elections could see huge changes.

  7. yeah... i keep thinking that they are gonna have to draw up a new coastline in lousiana though...

hey hotsauc3 i didnt know anybody on here played tactics arena online

  8. The tsunami was just a big tidal wave from the ocean. After it hit most of the water went back into the sea. The water in New Orleans has no place to go. The levees are broken which held it back into the lake., and the pumps arent working. Where do u think all that water is goin to go?

  9. If you seriously think we don't have the ability to rebuild New Orleans and pump the water out, well, you need to do more research. With the exception of land that may have eroded out to sea, pumps will be able to drain it, although it won't be overnight obviously. The projected time, last time I checked, was a little over two months to completely drain the area, although that's just a projected number. They'll rebuild the levees and install/repair the pumps. Not a simple or easy job, but N. Orleans won't be underwater forever unless they choose to not pump it for some reason.

But here's what scares the hell out of me, and I'm hoping it's not true:

"There are increasing indications that the situation in New Orleans may be worse than Americans are being told. TV outlets abroad are reportedly showing video of large numbers of floating bodies, and just as the US media did not show people jumping from windows in the World Trade Center on 911, it may be that we're being spared the worst. Russian intelligence analysts are calling New Orleans a "dead city." Some foreign reports estimate that as many as 50,000 people may be dead. It may be impossible to get an accurate count of the dead because alligators are devouring the corpses." - http://home.att.net/~thehessians/disasterwatch.html

  10. Bush is not qualified to be president but you don't give him enough credit. And the response to the hurricane is doing as best as it possibly can. Bush is not a bad person, he simply is a dumbass, if anything he worries to much about doing the right thing.

How can a this be a beginning to an end? It was a natural disaster that will cause hard times for millions and then we will recover.

  11. Theres another hurricane building...it's heading towards the FL NY or there abouts

They haven't suggested it be considered a major threat yet but honestly I can just about see a few more intense natural events to shock the world or at least the US into a state of less big bro more people being honest an good.

Cuz it really sucks to be fucked with just cuz people have pothead stigmas and maybe it'll take tons of death the criminal elements showing themselves in the face of chaos and the blatant need for new enegery sources.

How can people keep driving gas guzzling shit when their cars in a tree? Answer..we have to rebuild everything but instead of gas we build around safer renewable resources...

If anything it could be the extreme change needed to get everything back on track. It's not the end..it's the birth of a more logical society.

Eh... my glass is neither half full nor half empty...I knocked it off the table in a giggly fit of cotton mouth and can't seem to recall which.... :D

  12. I'm a TAO FANATIC. I play on legends server mainly, but you can catch me in rev (banff/great lakes) Hit me up and we'll get our game on. (Stats?)

  13. i think im only a 927 or so... i know im at least 927.. im not gold so i usually just play on whatever server they provide... i guess its legends..

  14. Honestly...our soldier put it quite well. The only ones affected by Katrina are the americans. We didn't even get a slight breeze over here.

And technically what is 'The beginning of the end'? After the end began, how long will it take till it actually ends?
Ok, without giving you too much bullshit: We've been heading towards the end from the very beginning. That's and absolute truth, assuming there IS and end.

  15. well i can confirm that the BBC has shown a lot of dead people on the News here in the U.K..........seemingly it's worse than first thought as a lot of people didn't leave the city and just went up stairs in their house, and then into the attick and then got stuck and drowned.........and i alot heard a lot of bodies are gone with Gators...........when i was there, i went out on the Bayou and the dude told me they have over 1 million Gators on those swamps, and they could very well demolish a person, the smaller ones just take the body a distance on to land and eat it over time..............only Months after this will we know how bad it is.............Peace out............Sid

  16. Since I live in North Carolina, I tend to keep track of hurricanes, and as far as I can remember, Katrina didn't seem to be much of a threat until the last minute. It went over Florida as a weak hurricane and was expected to continue on towards the gulf coast and hit as a Cat 1 or something like that. It turned more southerly thru florida and I remember thinking that it might go out in the gulf, restrengthen, and hit HARD.

It formed right there off of Florida, not way out at sea. Kinda odd.

Also odd is this thread, about how the media is allegedly once again not reporting the whole truth. It might seem nice to "spare" people but it pisses me off that you have to take every single thing you see and hear with a grain of salt, especially from the american media. And sometimes you forget this and you feel like a fool.

I am beginning trust the Daily Show with John Stewart more for news than a station like Fox News. It's more entertaining to watch as well.

  17. the daily show? what? are you serious?
just cut yourself off from the media entirely, who knows what you could accomplish
