I'm am at a crossroads in my life where I'm about to enter college and I need to choose a major. My parents want me to pursue a law degree and I sort of want the same thing. But at the same time I've also wanted to go ento some sort of law enforcement occupation such as the atf (they get to have all kinds of really cool shit) or swat division. i am someone who wants to perserve justice and prevent injustice. plus i'm not going to be one of those asshole cops that fucks w/people just to get off. I would never if I could help it prosecute someone for a victimless crime. also ya'll know those cops be keeping those pounds of weed they be confiscating and smoking the shit out of them. I met some of the undercover cops drug cops in my city's police dept during a job shadowing experience i had once. they looked like a bunch of coked out stoners. none of them looked like cops at all. i saw one of the detectives in the hallway before we were introduced to him. I thought he was a criminal there to see his probation officer or something. as you can see i'm seriously digressing, do you guys think i should become an attorney (boring job high pay) or be a cop+free weed included (exciting job mediocre pay)
hey man i am makeing a very similar choice im also about to go into college and am decided between getting my CPA or go into law inforcement like yours my parents want me to go be an account witch dosent sound to bad with better money and shit. im probably going to end up getting my CPA because of the money but that was just my choice also there are a shit load of things u can do with a law degree i think i would do that if i was smart enof<-------(spelling joke)
well you dont have to decide what you are gonna do right away... you are gonna be in college for 4 years (at least (hopefully)), and most colleges dont make you declare until at the very earliest your sophmore year. Plus you probably will have some leeway in what classes you taek, like not all your classes will have to be filling requirements or going towards your selected major, so you have time to look at whatever interests you and figure it out. id say take a pre-law class or two and a criminal justice class or two your freshman year and see what interests you more. Oh, and don't count on the free weed as a cop, thats sort of fantastical to be thinking that no matter where you work as a cop, youll have access to weed. So, essentially what I'm sayin is... don't worry about it, youll figure it out with time, and options you arent even thinking about now might become interesting to you by the time you graduate.

that's what it says on paper, mike. however, from what i understand, cops don't get tested unless someone finds a reason to test them. they say they are subject to random testing at any time, but they don't actually do it. like unless someone said i saw officer jay hitting the bong at a red light. then they'd test him. and depending on the corruption of that town he'd pass or fail. i know a lot of the cops in this county smoke weed. one time i got busted (long story short they let me go), they kept some of my weed and my pipe too if i recall. they fake dumped it out but not the big nugs in the corner of the bag. i watched his hand.
