So I am about to start a grow op in my closet (4'x8') soon and I am going to be venting through a my wall( into the living room), ceiling (into my attic), and also through my floor (the air exchange into my HRV)
I plan on installing some sort of a mechanism into every one of those orifices, to help scrub out the smell so my surrounding neighbors. Problem is, I do not know this mechanism; if their are none that will safely do this (safely as in no harm whatsoever to my plants) I will simply just go back to my original plan and install fans into and allow the smell pollute my block, which I would rather not do, but I will do it if I have to do it.

So, can anyone suggest anything that may help scrub the smell out of the air?
P.S my op will simply contain 2 plants

    Thank you :gc_rocks:

  2. you use a carbon scrubber with an inline fan...ive always used a can 33 with a 6" inline on a speed controller to slow it down a bit and it works great...thinking of getting the can 38 special next though cause its lighter and i want to hang it...phresh (phat) is another good brand also..they also have smaller ones for 4" fans if you want to go that route

  3. Thanks for the quick reply tin,
so I did a little bit of research and found this

Does anybody have any experience with this product? as well I was going to install one into my ceiling/attic than the other into my HRV/ fresh air exchange which is the duct to remove the stale air from the upstairs to outside that why both of my air vents to the outside from the closet are going outside through the filter..
    .. what do you think?

  4. lots of people have problems with the cheap filter like that so its pretty much hit or miss...i just have mine blowing from the filter through the air cooled hood then through the floor into the basement

  5. Tin,
Do the cans simply fit right onto the fan? (the two items you have linked)

they can yea but most people use a small piece of ducting like the one you showed...you do have to buy the flange to go with the can though dependng on the size fan you want to use..I also have a duct silencer on mine to reduce noice and i just set them together and duct taped the crack so no air leaked..cant do that if they're hanging though i tried and it kept falling...the phresh ones are lighter if you plant to hang it

  7. Carbonaire can filter works wonders. I had some plants stinking all the way to the street, installed a can filter on my exhaust ducting which vents into the house. Couldnt even smell it in the exhaust room.
