What do you do with Trimmings?

Discussion in 'First Time Marijuana Growers' started by NewSalvia, Mar 2, 2005.

  1. I have been thinking about using the trimmings off of the plants and starting a compost with them. Or maybe grinding them up and reincorporating them into the soil... I figure that all the nutrients the plants need would be there. I dont know if its a good or bad idea.

Also, when germinating the seeds, what do you guys think of after the seeds crack, putting them in a peat moss pot with pretty moist soil. Taking that, sticking it inside a ziplock bag, put a deep breath inside and sealing it. The breath provides humidity and CO2. I havent tried it, but i thought it might be a good idea.

    Any feedback?

  2. if the trimmings have tricomes on them i'd make some hash! if not tea is always nice or in a salad....mmmmmm. anyway i'm not too shure about compost, i guess it would be fine.

btw, what part of ak are you from.....i'm from tn.

  3. I used to live in TN, I used to live in Memphis matter of fact. Im in Central AR somewhere.

  4. You can always make hash. Unoit has a hashmaking thread somewhere

  5. There was a cool recipe on overgrow for umm

i think it was called PotKa

  6. can i just aks what you acually mean by "have tricomes on them" cos ive herd this alot and dont know what they are?

  7. Trichomes = resin glands. The sticky things that got all over your hands when you chopped the plant(s) :D... They dry into crystals and whatnot. It's basically where most of the THC is.

You can make hash outta the clippings - or simmer them in butter (just make sure to keep the temps at about 250f) and make some brownies or something :D

After you're done with the leaves you can compost them or make tea - whatever you wanna do really.

  8. Take the leave and what not and grind them to a fine powder . Buy a honey extractor at a local smoke shop or online and buy cans of butane . Then boom you got yourseld high grade oil .. The shit is sooo ddamn thick .. Its worth it ...AWESOME OIL

  9. be carefull making honey!!! be in a well ventalated area or boom you got yourself an explosion!

  10. Nah .. Its no where near as bad as the old fashion way of makin oil .

  11. when your seeds crack, I would reccomend putting them in a presoaked rockwool cube, under a humidity dome, or put them in a nice seedling mix, I wouldnt reccomend sticking it in peatmoss in a ziplock bag.... pretty pointless with the other smarter options available...
