Before last week I was just letting the plant soak it back up, this week i threw it on my pumpkin lol..... What do u do?
Soak it back up? As in you let it sit in the drip tray? That's not good to do if so, gonna help give you root rot and mold and gnats up the ass
Dump any run off water specially if it's slightly yellow (left over nutrients). Usually allow 10% to run off and leave that in the tray.... You don't want excessive humidity from water sitting around, root rot, molds ect...
when you water the plant, it helps leech the salts and left over nutes out of your soil. Soaking it back up would bring all the salts back into your soil.
ya my run offs have been slight yellow, and one was almost blood red....thats why i was like..uhhh prob shouldnt soak this back up.....thanks for all the great info. I know prob seems elementary, but i missed this small step

Not all of it...your plant needs air and so you soil needs to dry out to allow your roots to breath
the runoff would never sit in the tray longer than the lights were on, it soaked up fast...that was one reason i never messed with it lol

Unless its organic.... I usually toss my run off on my tomatoes or compost heap. Might was well put the washed away nutes to good use. But I am organic so I'm not worried about salts.
I don't see a problem with that, unless you're using chemicals, like FK said they'll soak back into your dirt. If you're using chemicals you want your runoff going to waste, not back into the pot. It may take longer to water your plant, maybe 10 minutes so the soil gets fully soaked. What I used to do is put my buckets or whatever on a milk crate in a rubbermaid and discard the runoff. Took me a good 45 min to feed and water 4 plants. With organics I rarely get runoff but it's ok to let it seep back in.
ok so my bell peppers have tripled in size! thanks for that tip by the way lol.... If i wanted to do a scrog set up its almost impossible to remove plants to water, so does that leave scrog plus soil growing like i am now out of the question? unless i set up some kind of elaborate drain system? pointers please
Mixed some nutes for one of my girls yesterday, had some left in the can... dumped em into my gf's tomato plant. Bet she loves the stuff...!
If your scrog supports are attached to a base or the actual container you can lift out the whole scrog. Avoid scrogging to the room or cabinet wallls as if the plant has issues you have to cut everything to remove it.
