Okay, so I planted a Northern Light's Auto, seed to pot, never transplanted. My medium is 70/30 FFOF/Perlite. It's in a 6 gallon AutoPot, with Hydroton layer on bottom with AirStone and Dome over the top hooked up to an air pump. However, this go around I decided to water the old fashioned way as opposed to utilizing the auto water system that fills the AutoPot base. I did some LST and topped twice before going on a 2 week vacation. My sister-in-law watered with PH'd RO water every other day while gone. I top dressed with Gaia Green 4-4-4 and just a smidgen of Gaia Green Power Bloom before leaving. I came back to discover a huge plant that clearly didn't get the AutoFlower gene lol. I had lights running 24/7 bc I thought it was an Auto. I have now reduced it to 18/6. I want to go 12/12 but want it to be healthy before doing so. Also, I top dressed with worm castings 6 days ago. MY PROBLEM- My PH is between 6.2 and 6.6, my VPD is around 1.15, I started noticing the tips of the leaves, some old and new turning yellow and brown. The edges of some of the new growth is a light lime green color while the rest of the leaf is "Normal". I have just been watering with PH'd RO water and today I hit it with some Cal/Mag, Dutch Science Cal-Mag with Humates, 1/4 tsp per Gallon of water. I am stressing because I don't know if it's a Magnesium deficiency since it's on new growth?? At first I thought Nitrogen deficiency and top dressed with worm castings 6 days ago. Any feedback, advice , answers are super super appreciated. Thank You!!!!!
I currently have the 2x4 AC Infinity IonGrid 260W set to 100%, at 2ft above canopy. I have another 130W AC Infinity 2x2 IonGrid that I will add with the 2x4 light for flower. The 2x4 AC Infinity 260W IonGrid that I'm currently using is just 2 of their 2x2 lights connected together, so for flower I figured I'd be better running 390W. Their lights aren't the strongest, I might switch it up next time.
Yes, with the 30% perlite , and with the air pump and 5" Air stone on the bottom constantly pumping, it dries out properly. I also use a meter to verify moisture at different levels. Normally with my autopots, the base is automatically filled and is connected to a 9 gallon reservoir and once the plant depletes the base past a certain point, it fills it back up, like how the tank of a toilet works. But the problem I found is that unless your feeding with liquid nutes, top dressing and feeding doesn't work because the roots drink directly from the base and the medium becomes dry and without top watering, the dry amendments have no way of getting to the root zone. So, this time, I changed my mind last second and decided to top water and use Gaia Green Nutes, rather than fox farm liquid nutes. So this is why it's in an AutoPot without actually utilizing the AutoPot self watering system lol its a very expensive normal 6 gallon pot at this point
I get the same issues in veg with Gaia Green, I wanna say it's some type of micro nutrient deficiency but I'm not sure, I've been told magnesium, calcium , and possibly iron just can't pin point it because I'm not very experienced like some growers on here. I've also been told it could be a PH problem at the root zone. Lmk if you find a resolution to your problem!
