Hey everyone! I was wondering what people do with their soil after an indoor grow? I've heard not to re-use old soil, I've heard to sterilize soil in oven (clear the house it'll stink it up), I've heard people just toss it( pretty wasteful if using 3-5 gal pots).
If you are organic you reuse the soil, if not then don't use the soil again, as it will be lacking the much much needed nutrients. And by organic I don't mean fox farm organic soil haha I mean actually making an organic mix, organic mixes get better each time you reuse that mix. ------------------------- All of my advice comes from years of farming and green housing experience. I'm a hacker, I'm a grower, I'm a stunt man. Live your life
I use promix and lots of nutrients... I will be tossing mine. $60 worth for 12 plants. It's just part of my budget. If I had to buy all of what I will yield in the end, I know I'm still saving.
toss your used soil in a pile and add a few other things like composted manures and non-smelly food scraps such as parsley stems and crushed egg shells. over time your soluble salts will wash out and more minerals will be added and it will become very fertile
