what did we do wrong

Discussion in 'Weed Edibles' started by budisour, Aug 14, 2011.

  1. so me and these other two people had 3 grams of some random dank, and made 3 firecrackers using a g in each.

we followed the directions exactly and all of us ended up with only a buzz.

i heard that sometimes edibles don't work, any comments? i'm turned off at the idea of making another edible, though i really wanna try canna-oil

  2. Edibles can actually be much more effective and efficient, than smoking, if they have been processed well.

Firecrackers are a common 'worst-case-scenario' edible, specifically for those who either don't have the time, or (for whatever reason) do not have access to a full kitchen and the simple tools needed, to make an edible oil.

Varying processing methods, provide varying effects. This is why we have so many dosage discrepancies, and so many failed edible stories.

The more corners you cut, the less effective your edible will be. Cannabis glandular material is notoriously difficult for the body to absorb, even if properly activated. It must then be broken down, using an 'edible solvent', into a bioavailable form.

Processing can make the difference between a 2 - 3 hour onset and mild experience, and an intense, 20 -30 minute onset with longer lasting more powerful effects, from the same quality, and quantity of material. Such qickie-edibles are certainly fine if you have enough material to spare, that you can afford to use many times the average dose, to achieve hopefully near the same effect. But if you find yourself going for a day, or days without meds, it's best that you use your materials as efficiently as possible, and you should consider making a good oil if you can.

Patients who smoke regularly, or eat medical grade edible oils regularly, often report that they feel nothing at all from firecrackers, due to their reduced bioavailability (why it takes longer for them to kick in, and why they provide a more gentle effect), almost regardless how much material they use to make them.

This is because these patients are, not only already flooded with cannabinoids, but their systems also expect and require the rapid, and regular delivery, provided by smoking, or a good oil or tincture, and those effects simply can't be matched by a near-raw toss'n'bake edible. The same processes which make cannabis an even effective and ideal medicine for patients, can help those using it recreationally, as well.

    Hope this helps. :)

(First Page, contains detailed information on decarboxylation, or cannabinoid conversion..
decarboxylation is the process of activating your cannabinoids 'potency' by removing the
carboxyl group in the form of carbon dioxide and water vapor, converting your cannabinoids

The best oils, produce little to no odor during processing, if sealed properly and heated and cooled correctly. You can easily put it in any boxed brownie mix... be sure to read the final paragraph for detailed dosage information.
