What can I do with moldy mushrooms from store???

Discussion in 'Growing Organic Marijuana' started by phoenixtru, Aug 20, 2018.

  1. bought mushrooms from the store to make carnitas and forgot about them. came back a couple of weeks later and mold is growing on them. I don't want to lose them but I'm wondering if I could use them as a foliar spray if I let it soak in water or can I throw it in my worm bin (Either or/both possibly)? 1534716470656.jpg

  4. The worms will love it. I put various mushrooms in my bin all the time. Excellent source of chitin too.

  6. Worm bin or compost. Or you could weigh them out and mix with an equal weight of brown sugar. It will pull the liquids out of the mushrooms (and the mold). Then you let it sit for 7-10 days. Strain out the mushrooms, reserve the liquid, add the solids to a compost pile or worm bin. Dilute the liquid 1:500 with water. It’s a great way to supply selenium, some Phosphorous, and several other elements to your plants.
