What can go wrong with high end glass?

Discussion in 'Apprentice Marijuana Consumption' started by smokinbudzzz, Oct 31, 2012.

  1. If you have high quality glass and you don't break it or smash it against anything can they last forever? What can go wrong with a quality bong if you treat it right?

  2. I guess you could say that. Eventually it will become stained, even with regular maintenance. I bought a new bong less than a year ago and it's got smoke stains on the perk.

  3. No way to get the stains out with alcohol and salt? Also i don't think stains can effect a bong. Or can it?

  4. glass on glass connection getting suck together... Mine did

  5. how does that happen and is their anything to prevent it?

  6. Keep em clean, as an extra measure lubricate them.

Technically the glass is impervious to staining. Staining would only be in areas that receive "splash" cleaning only. If you can mechanically contact all surfaces there should be no staining after a thorough cleaning.

If you stay away from "percs" and "ice catchers" and venturis And just stick with a straight tube. Should always be a snap to clean.

  7. You might be careful, not your stoned friends

  8. You can get resin stains out with isopropyl + salt, but a lot of people also experience hard water stains which can be taken care of by white vinegar.

The same things can go wrong with high end glass as low end glass.

Glass, whether quality or a not, does not typically self destruct on it's own. If you take care of it, it will probably last a hell of a long time no matter how much you paid for it.

Keep the joint dry because it happens when moisture gets in. It's possible to get out its just a bitch and a half

  10. They actually make a lubricant/sealer to use on these joints. Don't know where you buy it.

  11. I use vegetable oil, cheap and already have some downstairs.

Had a stem stick in a joint and caused me to toss it.
