Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Outdoors' started by taitpeter, Sep 5, 2004.

  1. I have a huge 5 foot tall Indica, she is 4 months old, and has been flowering for a week and a half. All the bud sites are growing at a great rate, but there are a few single pods under several of the bud sites...

    What are thesee???
    Is she a hemafrodite??

Im really worried about this, please help

    thanks ,,,,

    i cant type

    i high

  2. Sorry, but it seems like you have a herm on your hands. If it's the only plant you have, I would maybe try to remove all the balls just to keep the seed production from ruining the potency and flavor( male flowers tend to taste bad). If it isn't the only plant you have I would pull it before the "pods" open, and make some bubble hash with it.

If the "pods" you are describing look like the ones in this pic, and are accompanied by buds, you definitely have a herm.

  3. no, its not like that all........just a single pod under a few buds, not all bud sites, just 3 or 4, and just a single pod

does anyone else know what these could be???

  4. A picture would be helpfull. Do you own/can you borrow a digicam?

  5. i have a digital camera, and have tried to take a picture of one of the pods, but the camera is auto-focus, and it always focus's on the stuff behind the pod.....it turns out blurry in the pic

  6. put a sheet of paper behind it to take the pic then

  7. i just went back and checked on her, and most of those single pods have dissapeared, and new leaves coming out of the buds have taken their place.

are those pods just leaves in the buds that havnt came out yet?

  8. I was getting ready to make a post about this same subject. I was at a friends today and his female outdoor plant has been in the flowering stage for about 3 weeks to a month now and there are small pods coming out from every other branching and im very shure its not a Hermaphodite they look like the little nugs with a hair coming out the middle of every one and its already turned orange before the nugs hairs have (most of them are still clear)

  9. exactly, thats exactly what im talking about.....word for word.

does anyone know what these are called and what they are?

  10. If what you have is exactly what IcekolD described, then what you are seeing are female "pre-flowers". You say your plant is flowering, yet you don't recognize the indicator of female sex...............puzzling.

    Grow on....

  11. if you have duel pods on each side of the plant going upwords in each of its joints where branches come out then yes. that is normal they are female they will have lil hairs come out of them eventaully too i think.

  12. no, There will be no name-calling here at the City. *RMJL......she has been flowering for a week and a half as i said, so their deffinetly not pre-flowers

and dont talk to me like im an idiot, i know growing....i just want this one simple question answered

  13. Chill guys!
Both male and female have these things so there's nothing to worry about. I don't know the official name but I'm sure you can find it somewhere on the internet.
    Peace.

  14. For the sake of harmony I'll just ignore the name you felt the need to call me. I apologize if it "seemed" like I was making you out to be an idiot, but that was not the case. What I was attempting to do was share a bit of knowledge with you, having been a grower off and on for the last 17 years or so, I've picked up a little along the way. I realize you said your plant is already flowering. That's why I'm puzzled. You see, "female pre-flowers" usually form 1-2 weeks before the plant begins to actually flower. That's why the stigma,(little hairs), have turned red. Those pods were on your plant "before" it started flowering. They are what indicates female sex. As the plant continues to flower the white ones on your buds will turn red also. To illustrate my point. Here's a pic of a plant that is flowering, the "pods" , have been there since early august, yet the plant didn't begin flowering until about a week ago.
