Anybody able to tell me what that is on the one leaf? This is about 2 weeks old, and I have a second one from an identical seed that is slightly bigger and does not have the spots
Heya Chef, sometimes seedlings develop some weird spots, or sometimes deformities, wrinkles, or holes even. I would tend to not worry about it for the first few leaves and pay attention more to the new growth. The speckled look of the leaf is possibly from a lack of calcium, or perhaps from a deficient root system; I would suggest just let your plant dry out some before fertilizing/watering again and not to overwater it, because this can contribute to a bunch of downsides.
Hmm. These were sprouted in hydroponics, then I transplanted them into 1 gallon pots with a good soil - fox farms happy frog I think. I moistened the soil prior to the transplant, and didn’t water for like 3 days. I did however mist them twice a day. I’ll be careful with the watering; I hear it’s easy to do
Stop misting them. And its very badly over watered . Its possible the light burnt the plant from having water on them. And I see lime green there . After it dries up so you can water only then. Add 50% of what your going to be feeding them nutrient .
Well shit, I watered them last night for the first time. I wouldn’t have guessed, thank you. What does your last sentence mean? Are you saying give them water only, at a volume that’s half of what they’ll get when they’re being fertilized? Or are you saying at the next watering, I should give them fertilizer at half strength?
@bryan oconner is correct about misting; the droplets that remain on the leaves can act as magnifying glasses for the light, which in turn burns them. Also, if these were started in hydro then flipped to soil/peat, they will need to acclimate. The roots differ in these two environments.
It's a dying language but I have studied and speak bryan oconner semi fluently......1/2 strength nutes next watering.
Thanks to everyone for the constructive responses. It’s funny because everyone told me how easy it is to grow weed. I guess that’s…true, but growing weed is different from growing good weed
