What are the consequences to having a medical card?

Discussion in 'Medical Marijuana Usage and Applications' started by Zeb0, May 12, 2011.

  1. Ive heard from alot of different people that you cant get a government job if you're a Medical Marijuana Patient. Can someone point me to a list maybe, or if they could list them that would be great too. Im in California by the way.

  2. 1. Federal jobs
    2. Drug tests

  3. my understanding is that info being medical in nature, the records are 'supposed' to be private, and you have to give permission for them to be viewed....but we are talking about the government, and we know how well they follow the law/rules when the law/rules get in their way...:(

  4. For California you should specify whether you are talking about a "recommendation" or the county issued state ID card. The consequences may be different between the two.

Just having a recommendation in California should not prevent you from getting a government job. Failing a drug test will. Disclosing that you have a recommendation might.
