What are good nutrients?

  1. This is going to be my first grow and i was wondering whats some good nurtients that i could get from lowes or home depot.

  2. Prolly nothin good at stores like that. u can get fox farms or general hydroponics nutes off ebay or mail order them from a hydro shop if you dont have one locally. The only thing you will find at a home improvement store is miracle grow most likely, the organic (mg)stuff works allright but is difficult to flush because it is time release and I dont think the n-p-k is geared for vegging or flowering marijuana efficiently. also advance nutrients is supposed to be a sweet complete line. if u look at it in the long run the price that seems expensive for good quality nutes pay for themselves in the long run, if not in buds in less headaches to deal with. good luck

  3. alright thanks. Ill probably just order some fox farms. Im going to be growing for awhile.

  4. I have been happy w/ FF, just be easy with em, grow big, tiger bloom and the solubles are potent. I usually only use 1/3 - 1/2 strength of what they recomend at the most so u dont burn em, and check ur ph close when ur flowering cause it can end up screwy in a sec. I think it may be the tiger bloom, ive heard of a lot of people using a calmag boost along with it but have not done so myself. lots of frosty nuggets to look forward to tho. peace.

  5. thanks. cant wait to see how my first grow turns out.
I bought this ph tester for ten bucks it has these 2 metal rods that said you stick into the dirt. Are these any good?

  6. 2 cents.. GH and keep it simple. for soil any of the botanicare products work

  7. gh? Im using kellogs patio plus. I heard its pretty good

  8. general hydro

  9. Maybe I can help here:wave:................First kelloggs patio plus is an exellent choice. For the first four to eight weeks PP really needs no xtra nute the guano and castings work great. Your ph will remain stable as long as you ph your h2o before you water. Remember anything you pour onto your plant must be ph'ed first or down the line you'll start having ph swings and a host of probs that come with it. Second I have not found any nutes at lowes or home depot wally world ect. that are really what we want.........best deal I have found, fox farms nutrient trio for SOIL ( make sure you get the soil formula, not hydro) from a seller @ amazon........38$ + shipping.:) (ff is not available for me local) Next.......throw that pronged thing in the trash..........it is useless and misleading. Go any pet center (walmart is fine) and get an aqurium ph test kit for FRESH water for $5 or order a good ph pen off the web. Learn to ph everything in and out, your runoff from the pot tells the whole story. Keep studying keep learning, hope this helps, good luck.
    Peace B

These work pretty good, base wise. I also added in the Floralicious which you use at the same rate all throughout.

  11. hhmmmmmm... sweet deal bagz.

Usually a digi meter runs 40$ and up. As for nutes I run the FF line pf solubles. Works great but 1/4 to 1/2 strength is absolutlety necessary unless your outdoors. Good luck.

PS> add dolomite lime to your soil to keep the ph buffered. 1tbsp of lime per gal of soil.
