Right now i'm growing in a closet 3x4x7 split into two levels.Let's start with the bottom tier the veg room,it has 1 4 foot 40w double flourescent fixture,it also has 4 2 foot 20w flourescent fixtures for seedlings. The top tier the bloom room,it has 2 70w hps lamps.My exhaust system/intake system consists of a 10in fan blowing out of ceiling w/3 8in fns circulating,but it stays in the high 80's;I also provide fresh air by keeping door open.My soil is a 50/50 mix of soilless mix and perilite.I feel I'm doing everything right but my bud is just not what it should be.HELP!
For anything over 3 plants, you don't have enough lighting. High 80's is also way too high, you need it in the mid 70's
140watts of HPS isn't enough like he said. You could take the T12s out of your veg tier and put one 4 foot 2 bulb T8 fixture. Seedlings grow great under those, and they don't put off heat for the most part. Invest in a better light to flower(HID or T5 floror). For your heat probs, put a fan in your box blowing directly on the hotest part sof the lights, and maybe get a small AC unit.
also, as far as heat is concerned, it rises and you got the lights that are producing the heat at the top with the warmest air. if heat is a prob you need to rearrange the setup, get more air moving through there. floro's stay cool so maybe switch the 2 sections.
thank you for answering.what is your opions on cfl's HO's,why i am is i think it might cut down on my heat promblems?also by switching the sections around won't that make my veg room warmer on the bottm of the vegging plants?
