Got my ass up at 11:15, and my buddy was supposed to give me a ride at 1130 to Ozzfest, but he and some other dudes were up all night partying, so that fell through. Luckily I got a hold of my other friend/business partner to give me a ride with another car full of people. Finally get in (fuck will call) and sit through 3 Inches of Blood and Showdown... boring ahh. Then Nile hit the stage and fucking ripped it up... I mean I thought I was listening to their Cd's or something.. goddamn are they good. Hit a blunt and then waited for Behemoth, who wasnt bad, and DevilDriver before them was ok. We made our way over to main stage, didnt want to bother with Hatebreed really. Got the call to go interview Nile at like 530, right when Black Tide started (think Motley Crue except 14-18 years old), thank god. The interview went great; Ill post it up here when it gets published on ultimate guitar. Theyre really down to earth guys and incredible musicians. Went back to main stage, smoked another blunt and sat through the torture of Lordi. Oh my god, so awful. But no matter, my partner and I moved from the lawn where all my buds had tickets to our seats in the 10th row, where we saw Static-X. That is a band who I have rrecently forgotten about and after seeing them I realized how much I like them as musicians. Great great set. We also found out Behemoth was flaking on our interview, for the second time. Last time we try to interview them. Moved back up to the lawn for fucking Lamb of God. By this time the Static pits had turned the lawn into a fucking mudslide, so the LoG moshing was fucking nuts, even though they were a bit disappointing. I've seen them about 3 times before this, but this time Chris Adler was off, the mix was shitty, and all their songs were played at about 20 bpm slower than usual. But whatever, still great. Smoked another two blunts with some other random people who turned out to be really chill then caught a bit of Ozzy (I've seen Black Sabbath before so I wasnt too interested). Took off, got some motherfucking CULVERS and had a few smokes for the long ride back. I was muddy as fuck when I got back, literally caked in it. Took a nice long shower as my buzz wore down and got some brownies and peach cobbler. So yeah, fucking crazy. I spent about 30 dollars in drinks and food at the venue for barely anything, but whatever, its a concert. Ozzfest is not normally my thing, but Nile and Behemoth were playing and I had some interview business, which was my main reason for attendance. Ps I did not mean to make this as long as it is.. sorry
