Weird seedling... need help

    Hi.
    I'm a first time grower. I got some Jack Horror from Amsterdam and growing them indoor. i read all the guides and my seedlings are progressing quite nicely except one weird one.
    First of all, after a week of sprouting it developed a small offspring from the same seed ('bout 2 cm long). the seedling stopped growing at all and after a week the small one died off. But 2 weeks later - the seedling still hasn't growed one bit! now it's developing something really weird :eek: it looks like another stem, but what do i know :rolleyes:
    i'm attaching some macro shots - please advise me as to what to do :wave:

    That's definitely a wacky looking little plant you've got there. I say grow it out and see what happens ;)

    Wow, that's fucked up - it looks like a melon seeedling! It looks like some sort of genetic mutation. Do you have any other seeds germinated?

    Yeah. no problems with others. Had a slow start under incandecent lightbulb, but now growing very rapidly and nicely under a new set of CFLs.

    All the seeds germinated more a less simultaneously, sprouted at the same time and were growing at a same pace until this freaky guy's little evil twin sprouted from the same seed :D and it's not growing for 3 weeks now. not a centimeter. :(

    A definite mutant!! They crop up from time to time.

    Just don´t know, doubt anyone would know for sure. But I would encourage it, as much out of interest as anything else.

    I had a strange one grow out of bag seed.. I was going to give up on it but... i kept growing anyway.. here are some pics... I would let it go. Mine now is fine and growing fast and almost up with the others.. It originally only had one serated leaf.

    Is it necceseraly a genetic mutation or can it be caused by improper handling of a seedling? i mean it was under incandecent lightbulb for 2 weeks and i all the time moved it around and generally treted it not very nicely?

    I've been giving the seedlings quarter strength nute solution once a week from the start, but i read here that this is generally not good. is that true?

    Probably just a genetic mutation. Hard to really screw up a seedling that bad. Grow that sucker out and see what happens. Might be worth some clones if you came across some weird mutation that turns into a siamese twin plant ;)

    looking at the last pic from the first 3 that you posted

    there is no grow shoot & so that seedling will never become much ...unfortunately the cannabis is not perfect ...so these things can happen

    sometimes crops of hundreds of thousands of seeds ..dont come out the way we expect
    we just lick our wounds , grow on & hope for the best

    pretty hard to do though when your getting hunted down by the cops ,production cannabis is not legal in Holland & we have to hide out just like any other illegal grower :(

    anyways i say pull it & concentrate on your healthy 1's

    i think i'll keep it for now, since it's not really bothering the other plants, and it is trying to sprout something...

    The first few picks look like the sprout stretched WAY too far, when there isnt enough light the stem will grow up to 4 inches overnight (from what ive seen) it also gets those small leaves on top, most of the time they fall over and die but then you have growth still at the bottom witch everyone says it mutant.

    Yea, i must admit, im quite interested also, please let it go and keep us posted. Im curious. Believe me, its not for nothing, sometimes the weakest/weirdest come out being the strongest to make up for it.

    i wasn't planning on chucking it... it's fun to see the mutant growing up every day in you living room. Every morning i wake up and the first thing i go and see what had it done overnight :)

    yes it seems ,after all that is determined to grow ..iam interested in this also now

    grow baby grow !!! ...it is true that sometimes mutants turn out to be the strongest plants

    sometimes i get 2 seedlings out of 1 seed , 1 eventually stops growing , but the other grows to be a wicked plant ...also tri-leafs are cool

    i think the leaves that are emerging are more or less normal. maybe the weird part is over? :rolleyes:

    bought one more 20W cool white CFL just for the weirdo :) And to my surprise it started growing steadily and producing more or less normal leaves... so i guess the fun part is over :rolleyes:
