Weird looking holes

Discussion in 'Sick Plants and Problems' started by Iceman2494, Oct 24, 2018.

  1. I noticed weird holes in some leaves . It’s not pests I’ve checked . I’m in a indoor grow . Temps range between 77 and 81 f. In 707 roots organic soil . Use general organic nutes at less than half strength. Only one hole per leaf not multiple. Did do fim a week ago and topped way back when . Other than that plant looks healthy IMO

  3. Don’t see anything and it’s not on all leafs . Same size hole . Think it’s more feed related

  4. I bet it's fungus gnats. Common pest. If you see little black flying bugs on the inside lip of your pots you'll know. There's a ton of remedies. I have holes from twist ties and a couple from gnats I think .

  5. No sign of pests . Thinking a burn of some sort . Noticed another on another plant . Looks the same . Occurs on lower leafs or new growth. I oredered a Pom meter and a ph . Now I’m a collector of 2 ppm meters... smh

  6. Wish I could help on that. I haven't checked mine. Just respecting the nutes

  7. Do you always get a run off ? Sometimes I don’t think I water enough and I get none .

  8. I don't always. Because of this mess. I give them about 4 cups a day now each slow and even don't want any dry spots. 1540999214693.jpg 1540999302070.jpg

  9. Looks too randomly located to be a feed issue.
Not fungus gnats, they don’t eat leaves. Their larvae eat roots. the adults flying around are looking for nectar/pollen.
Could be a leafhopper or two. A lot of bugs are good at not being found - millions of years of evolution hiding from birds and other predators.
Either way, doesn’t seem to be significant enough damage to warrant an action. I’d say do nothing but keep monitoring for now. Get some sticky traps in around the plant.

Edit: Actually, zooming in I see there’s lots of other little white dots. Ya could be nutes issue. i saw a similar issue here recently and one of the chaps here said cal-magnesium deficiency. Hopefully they see this thread and chime in.
