Weird flashbacks

  1. Sup guys. Lately I've been getting really weird flashbacks of my past memories that I totally forgot about, and sometimes I even get memories that don't make sense at all?
Like I'll have a flashback about a memory I don't remember, and the feeling of that memory was extremely foreign, almost as if I was on another planet.
Now I'm starting to think that I'm getting memories of past lives because of that foreign feeling. Has anyone else been having this lately?
It happens much faster and more intense when I'm meditating btw.

  2. Ya I kinda get what you mean. I had a very strange day a few months ago. About 7 or 8 times that day, I would experience these strange flashbacks of past dreams. They would only last for a few seconds and I could never fully understand what was happening in these flashbacks. I would try to piece together what was going on, but it would be out of my memory seconds later. It was extremely frustrating. These flashbacks were very vivid, and would occur while I was doing everyday activities- watching tv, doing a math problem....they would happen at random it seemed. I can't really describe the feeling of them, other than that they were much like what you feel when you experience deja-vu. I've never done psychedelics or any thing like that. I only smoke weed, although I no longer do. The other weird thing is that it hasn't happened since, just on that one day. I did some research online and found people who had experienced similar things, but no cause.

  3. there have been times in my life when i lived only for those moments.....

i have at times described the feeling of it as if i had dreamed my entire life before i could speak....

first the sound would come -of the most perfect deep music ....

quickly followed by the taste of copper and that "off" feeling in my stomach...

and as the music rises so does the vibration all thru every cell of my body....

gray and black static would come into my vision from the sides and close in around me....

then the darkness would tear open and for a moment...i could see into that place where the music came from ...

into that whole other world that was always trying to reach me...

the place i was always trying to get to...

i loved it so much that when it came i would do all i could to hold onto it...as long as possible...

i searched for that feeling in everything...

often repeating to myself phrases i had heard withing the music....

i believed if i tried hard enough one day i could get to that place.....

    well eventually i did...

only we dont get to remember what we see there do we......

    --------------------------------------------------------------------

    anything like that^?

  4. I can separate my dream memories from my actual memories

  5. A couple yeas ago (maybe 2 years?) I had a really, really vivid dream. The dream took place at my house and in my neighborhood. It felt like everything was absolutely normal and I was just having a normal day. Even when I look back on it now I can't really recall if it was dream or not. It feels like a regular memory...like I actually lived it. I'm pretty sure it was a dream though cause I remember things being sorta strange and there are something's that stick out in the memory that reassure me it was in fact a dream.

Anyways, a couple months ago I remember being outside of my house and I found myself doing the same exact thing, in the same exact spot where I was in the dream. It was really trippy to say the least. I literally felt like I couldnt define reality in that moment. It felt like the most lucid dream ever besides I couldn't do whatever I wanted. But the feeling of me being inside a dream was so intense...words can't describe.

That was probably the strangest experience I've ever had with memories and dreams.

  6. i described it to the doc as being like a flash back from a dream...

something so intense that our language lacked the ability to properly describe it....

cant tell you that you have what i have.....
    but check it out.....
i didnt find out till i was 32...and it became something much more intense then it had been before.....many people have this and never get diagnosed....because it never becomes enough of a problem for them to need to seek help.....
if you check the link...you will see how my shit progressed and became a problem....

Thanks for the read man much appreciated. The strange thing is that it only happened to me that one day, but multiple times throughout the day. So i dont think I have what you had. I felt detached from reality and like I was dreaming while I was awake. It would only last 5-10 seconds though. Each of these flashbacks would trigger some sort of memory though or as it seemed I had dreamed it before. How long did each one these flashbacks last for you?

  10. i had them my whole life and didnt know what they were.....
they could last a few seconds to a few minuets.....

at different times in my life they would come more often....
there were times i went long enough between to have forgotten about them....untill the moment one would start.....

everything i have read tells me there are many people who could be considered temporally sensitive....
having such minor versions of these episodes so as to not even notice something happening....
people can be found with everything between that^ and full generalized epilepsy....

    read some of this http://forum.grasscity.com/spirituality-philosophy/general/4...t-sceince.html
and obviously what i already posted here...if you think you need to talk to a doc...it will be the neurologist you want to see....;):smoke:

  12. Wow that column sounded exactly how I feel sometimes.
When I walk down the street, sometimes I get this strange feeling of deja vu, and a "dreamy state", as if I'm in a dream. It sounds simple but its so much more complex and intriguing then explained to be honest. I find it very fascinating when this kind of stuff happens though because I feel like I'm being enlightened towards something. Sounds schizophrenic but whatever if I like it then shit, lmao.

  13. you sound alot like me.....;):smoke:
as stated previously...there have been times in my life when i lived for these experiences..... and it is much more complex then words make it seam....

    "Sounds schizophrenic" -very

  14. True that.

I got a question. Do you have lots of dreams inside of dreams by any chance? I've been having that happen to me so much lately.

  15. try and be alittle more specific?
    i have very vivid dreams....
and can remember dreams from before i could talk...but have a hard time remembering last week....and dont remember last summer at all....
i get the pleasure of meeting people who know me...but i have no idea who they are ....

of coarse the memory issues did not begin until i progressed from the simple partial seizures described here..to complex.....(the main difference being ....simple- remain aware....complex-blackout.....)

  16. Simple Partial Seizures

    What are they like?

They are remarkably different from person to person, depending on the part of the brain where they begin. The one thing they all have in common is that the person remains alert and can remember what happens. Here are a couple of experiences:

"I almost enjoy them. The feeling of déja vu, as if I've lived through this moment and I even know what's going to be said next. Everything seems brighter and more alive."
"It is a pressure that starts in my stomach, then rises to my chest and throat. When it reaches my chest, I smell an unpleasant odor of something burnt. At the same time I feel anxious."

Sometimes the seizure activity spreads to other parts of the brain, so another type of seizure follows the simple partial seizure. This can be a complex partial seizure or a secondarily generalized seizure.
    How long do they last?

Only a short time, usually less than 2 minutes.
    Tell me more

Doctors often divide simple partial seizures into categories depending on the type of symptoms the person experiences:

    Motor seizures:

These cause a change in muscle activity. For example, a person may have abnormal movements such as jerking of a finger or stiffening of part of the body. These movements may spread, either staying on one side of the body (opposite the affected area of the brain) or extending to both sides. Other examples are weakness, which can even affect speech, and coordinated actions such as laughter or automatic hand movements. The person may or may not be aware of these movements.

    Sensory seizures:

These cause changes in any one of the senses. People with sensory seizures may smell or taste things that aren't there; hear clicking, ringing, or a person's voice when there is no actual sound; or feel a sensation of "pins and needles" or numbness. Seizures may even be painful for some patients. They may feel as if they are floating or spinning in space. They may have visual hallucinations, seeing things that aren't there (a spot of light, a scene with people). They also may experience illusions-distortions of true sensations. For instance, they may believe that a parked car is moving farther away, or that a person's voice is muffled when it's actually clear.

    Autonomic seizures:

These cause changes in the part of the nervous system that automatically controls bodily functions. These common seizures may include strange or unpleasant sensations in the stomach, chest, or head; changes in the heart rate or breathing; sweating; or goose bumps.
    Psychic seizures:

    >These seizures change how people think, feel, or experience things. They may have problems with memory, garbled speech, an inability to find the right word, or trouble understanding spoken or written language. They may suddenly feel emotions like fear, depression, or happiness with no outside reason. Some may feel as though they are outside their body or may have feelings of déja vu ("I've been through this before") or jamais vu ("This is new to me"- even though the setting is really familiar).

    Who gets them?

Anybody can get them. They may be more likely in people who have had a head injury, brain infection, stroke, or brain tumor but most of the time the cause is unknown.
