Weird Feeling Is Stomach/chest When High?

Discussion in 'Cannabis Consumption Q&A & Tips' started by TheCatfromMars, Sep 4, 2014.

  1. Hi everyone! I'm new here so please take it easy one me :) I signed up just now cause I had a bit of an issue that I was wondering if anyone has heard of/can explain. I'm new to weed and have only smoked about 4 times. The first time I don't think I felt anything, but I was drunk at the time so I can't say exactly. The second time was the first time I was "high". I'm not sure what strain I was smoking, but it was a joint rolled w/tobacco. I experienced extreme cottonmouth, heightened sense of touch (I could feel every crumb in my mouth) and the weirdest of all, the feeling of trapped gas in my stomach. At first it was minor but the more I thought about it, the worse it got. When I would focus on the feeling, I felt as if my stomach was a giant balloon filled with air. It was really weird and not pleasant. A few times my stomach even gurgled. The 3rd time, I smoked waxy oil out of a vap pen and is the most high I've ever been. Again with the intense stomach feeling, also accompanied by nausea (could be snacking). Most recently, I bought some weed I was told was the strain "blue dream". This time I used my Solo vaporizer. The ABV herb at the end of the session was about .4grams. I didn't feel the high until the last portion and when I did it was intense. This time I felt an odd tingling sensation in my whole body, and again the same stomach feeling. This time I had this intense "need" to burp. That feeling where the gas is *RIGHT* there, but I just kept pushing and no burp. Eventually I realized I started to make myself sick trying to force it. Aside from the tingling, I was also having a lot of thoughts and an odd thinking pattern. Everything was fine and enjoyable except that damn stomach feeling. I eventually tried to convince myself that t was all in my head, but then my stomach started GURGLING. Thats not in my head. I later ate some chocolates and it seemed to disappear. But as I said the more I think about it, the worse I feel it. Its kinda like I'm zoning into that part of my body and feeling everything there more heightened. It has now been 6-7hrs since I smoked and I'm STILL feeling a bit of a head high AND the bloated air stomach thing! Any ideas? This is killing my mj experience! What could be causing it and how do I prevent it?

  2. I dunno man, i get the opposite, where my stomach opens up and acids and shit go in my throat. Feels like shit, its called GERD, or Acid Reflux as its more commonly known. About your question though, I dont think this happens from bud, it could be something else that you are having with the bud. Or most likely is you have an illness causing the gas buildup, and marijuana brings it out. Try going to a doctor and asking him, if hes not asian or indian he should be able to tell if you have gas buildup or something.

  3. A couple times I've actually burped out smoke while blazing haha, I figured I must have accidentally swallowed while I was inhaling. It's possible that the same thing happened to you. But if you say eating chocolate helped then maybe you were just hungry. You could also try drinking soda to help you burp?

  4. If you continue to smoke and continue to have bad side effects, then here is your answer:

You better hold onto something cause this is gonna blow you away.

       Wait for it...

                                 .......you ready?

            DON'T SMOKE

  5.
I'm actually trying to use this as an alternate to heavy pain meds/depression meds, so I would actually prefer to find the issue rather then quit all together :/

  6.
Thanks for the idea, maybe soda might help? I'm thinking maybe I'm just swallowing too much air when inhaling? Just doesn't seem like it cause I don't feel that way until I'm actually high lol The chocolate did help so I guess it could have been hunger (and me being too lazy to make food lol) or I was just efficiently distracted from the unpleasentness BY the chocolate.

  7. You might be swallowing the smoke instead of inhaling

  8. Then try CBD enriched tincture.

  9. Oh boy I hope not! I have enough issues as it it lol Dx I've never had any issues with acid reflux though. I guess if it keeps happening I could go to my doctor, but I'm not sure how to explain it to them as its not something they'd approve of. I'd probably just be told to stop smoking and take the usual meds for my condition. Which I don't really want to do lol Thanks anyways :)

  10.
    1) Not easy to get ahold of. I live in New York.
    2) Not sure how well CBD is going to work for pain and for depression as thats what I'm treating. I've heard of its use for seizures and anxiety, but thats not close to what I have.

  11.
I know I'm def inhaling, but maybe a portion of it is being swallowed as well? Hmm. I really don't know...

  12. Thanks for your incredibly helpful and enriching post. It most certainly is not a giant waste of space. <_<

one of the best things imo you can do is get some type of chocolate munchie food. not only is it good for the munchies but chocolate has some specific chemical idr which rn im high... B U T that actually increases brainwave activity in the area which emits your ~happy emotions~ so its easier to stay in a good mood bc it keeps you a tad more balanced~
