Weird effects on my friend

    So I smoke with my friend and as soon as we get high he starts to shake really bad and gets extremly paranoid. The other day I had a nerf gun and I told him it was real and he freaked out, he literally jumped up ran into the kitchen and hid behind a chair and just kept peeking out. Then I picked it up and he sprinted over smacked it out my hands and pointed it at me. Can someone explain this to me and its absolutely weed nothing else.
