week 4 flower - pistils amber

Discussion in 'Sick Plants and Problems' started by kushclub, Aug 29, 2017.

  1. im worried about 1 of my plants. the pistils have mostly turned brown and it seems early for this to happen? ive read possibly hermied or stress etc..

i cant think of anything recent that could of stressed the plant and i dont think its hermie.. i check most days for signs and i have 2 other flowering plants in my tent which are a different strain and only have the odd pistil turning at this stage.

if one plant was pollinated shouldnt all show similar signs?

heres a pic. let me know what you guys think and if i should worry or wait it out?

  2. Nutrient line and schedule? Bloom boosters? Additives? Temps? Distance from light?

Some strains do this by default, then pump another layer of white fresh pistils. If she hermied you should be able to find "nanners".

Best of luck! She looks outstanding!
Mine have done the same in the past, some pollinated, some not. Makes in the room? Older flowering females nearby that hermied in front of a fan?

    No information?

    Cheers!!

  3. The lack of yield alone at 4 weeks would of made me yank that plant.

  4. is it worth waiting for the buds to ripen though? what causes such shit development usually?? genetics or?

  5. Could be many factors, although a very small yield it looks tasty!

  6. You haven't trained the plant or if you have you haven't done enough to allow for an even amount of light to get to all the bud sites.

Notice how your plant is Christmas tree looking so therefore your light has to be so far from the top in order to not create heat issues so the bottom bud sites are getting such minimal light

  7. I had the same issue with 1 of my 4 wonder women on my last grow. I never could figure out what was causing it it was just one off to the front didn't want to grow anymore and basically stayed very small and stunted and did the same thing yours is. They were coco hempys on a 600w hid. Running cobs and QB now. Just beginning.

    This is today

  8. All I know is I highly recommend canna Coco coir. My ph has been 6.0 since the day I opened the bag. Thats never happened before with any coir before. I have a feeling that's what happened with the one that got Stunted. it was a bad batch of coco. I remember in the beginning I used different coco mixes that sat too long and I don't think it was buffered right or charged maybe because I ran it under tap I don't know

  9. lol thanks, i also know i havent trained my plants at all. first grow so didnt wanna attempt training just getting feel for basics of growing..training my next grow.

i believe its nothing to do with light intensity though if that were a contributing factor should the upper buds not be bigger as more light and smaller at bottom? these buds basically havent really developed much for the last 2 weeks and almost all hairs orange except few white pistils on lower budsites id say 90% of the plants pistils have turned with no new ones showing.

plus my other 2 plants are really filling out like they should

  11. i found what i believe was the reason last night, after reading about how pistils turn as buds near end of growth usually or after pollination i got worried and had a real good look all over the plant.

first found tiny green round things which i thought where pre mature seeds. started looking for balls but couldnt spot them.

    found a couple nanners though
so plant had self pollinated and stopped bud growth to focus se3d production.

pulled it out so dont effect my other 2 i hope
