weed olive oil

  1. my idea please tell me if it would work. if i was to fill up a film canister with olive oil and throw in .5 of dank let sit for 4 or 5 days filter through mesh screen and put some on a piece of toast.
     
  2. THC is released into the oil by heat and usually heat alone. You need to simmer the olive oil in a pan (over medium heat) with the grounded up weed in it, for like 2+hours if you want it potent. Then you sift through cheese cloth or a mesh screen and use the oil as you please.

    Just having the pot sit in the oil for 4hours won't do anything.

  4. If it's in a relatively cool or room-temp spot, expect to wait at least several weeks, and up to a month, or longer. If you'd like it done within 7 days and can't use an oven for whatever reason, find the most secure, warmest area in your house (and be sure you seal your container well to prevent 'accidents') such as a computer vent, cable box, near a heater, or a TV vent.

    'Heatless oils' are certainly easily possible to achieve, and it may be interesting to note that freezing below certain temperatures (below those that can be reached by most home freezers) can even greatly speed up the 'heatless' oil process, and in this case the breakdown occurs much more safely, and with less degradation, than by either heating gently or over-heating.
    Activation can be sped up with heat, and decarboxylation is recommended beforehand, even more so when using a heatless oil method. But it can also be sped up more safely, and with less loss of volatile cannabinoids and terpenes, by freeze-drying. For the sake of stealth and saving money, wrapping loosely in foil and placing well-ground herb in front of a computer vent in such a way that herb herb remains inside the foil but has some circulation for a half hour, to an hour, will also do the trick with minimal terpene loss.

    In any case, in the end how long it's going to take, really depends on where you're storing it. :)
     
  5. Ya man i agree with marcus, you gotta cook it into the oil like you would with cannabutter... I prefer to use a crockpot for both as it maintains a low temperature and consistent environment.

    also, try organic coconut oil for a healthier alternative and a VERY effective massage oil that completely numbs out any muscle pain.
     
  6. Dude... Use the fil canister... 1 week of daily shaking will give you some potent oil. No heat or further time needed... How ever heat and time would give better results... but you'd still get plenty of high from your way.
