I planning on using a 400w metal halide light for vegging but I have a problem when it comes to flowering. I no everyone says to use a hps light for flowering but I am on a tight budget so that doesn't work for me. My question is if I continue using the mh lamp for budding and also bring in possibly another 300w of cfl would that be alright? And also I have the light and the ballast for the mh but no bulb, what bulb would i have to get? like is there a certain name for the bulb used specifically for vegging.
u can flower using your mh using a hps during flowering isnt crucial although hps is more efficient and put out more lumens. is your ballast convertible? i prefer hps
