    Juneau Superior Court is scheduled to hear a lawsuit on Wednesday against the state overturn a new law penalizing marijuana possession for personal use in the home. The suit brought by the American Civil Liberties Union alleges the new law is an invasion of privacy, which goes against the state's constitution.
    Michael Macleod-Ball with the ACLU says it has been ruled by the court that the right to privacy in Alaska is stronger than in other states and at the federal level.

    The administration argues that marijuana has become more potent since 1973, when the court first ruled that up to four ounces of the drug could be kept for personal use.

    Macleod-Ball says information submitted to the Legislature clearly established that's not the case. The law was signed by Governor Murkowski last month and makes marijuana possession of four ounces or more a felony.

    WOW. THAT"S FU**** UP. What kind of gov't are we? Totalitarian? Socialist? Def.

    not a democracy. Supposed to be a republic but with the immense federal jurisdiction

    seems to me that we're leaning towards Dictatorship with the exception of any

    One man being the Dictator.

    As a former Republican, I can tell which party has there fingers on this one. . . .

    I read that on NORML's charts for state law penalties, and was quite intrigued.. but now it looks like I won't be moving to Alaska anytime soon

    Fail to see why Jesus was throw in there. I also don't see where God says that you

    can't have freedom. Wasn't it God that commanded Moses to lead his people out of

    slavery in Egypt? Don't confuse The Greatness of Religion with the Errors of man.

    Religion is the template in which you follow and it clearly states that You will pay

    for your errors in the next life.

    Socialism is about labour not being a commodity, not about government control. Fascism makes more sense here(and in describing the US in general), aka anti-individualism.

    You're right about it not being a democracy, at least a properly functioning one. Too many democrats and republicans with dinosaur ideas and pork oozing out of every pores.

    Just to let you guys know I"m starting my own MJ Militia.

    We're A Non-violent Militia. Our aim is to DeBrainwash Americans. The Truth will be

    heard. We will have many Missions that everyone can particpate in locally. Once we

    grow in numbers and strength we will get more political. But for right now, we're

    gonna stick with Cheap yet effective methods. Check back on Mon. in General.

    bullcrap...I have 8 ounces to myself for about 5-6 weeks or about a month and a week that personal use, sometime 4 ounces isnt always enough
    i feel i am too baked to get the point of the text.

    The criminalization of cannabis is just as much a part of an international conglomerate conspiracy perpetuated by various monopolies across the world which have seen to it that our planet continues to be destroyed in the interest of profit.

    As overpopulation plagues 1st world nations, famine, terrorism, and war plagues 3rd world nations. This is not to mention the global warming that has been perpetuated by EVERYONE who wishes to continue to drive their cars, though, in all fairness, it is the oil and electrical companies to blame for not providing the world with an alternative and clean-burning energy source which has been widely known about for many decades now!

    All this, and meanwhile we have this fantastic plant that provides our planet with so many uses. Despite the fact that this plant has been around for much longer than mankind, we still manage to somehow give in to our own personal selfishness and say "well, it'll all happen someday."

    Well let me tell you something, this world isn't gonna be around forever, hell with all these various problems with war, with famine, with global warming, hell I'm half expecting the oceans to fill up tomorrow. Well, hell, maybe that would even be a GOOD thing, at least that would get people concerned and WAKE them UP about what the hell has been going on for the past 100 years or so.

    The simple fact of the matter is that so many problems could be solved if the common individual would get up off his ass and say "no, I don't want this kind of corrupt government, this kind of corrupt world, I was BORN with this innate sense of decency that's being outright violated, twisted, and turned against me!"


    But NOoo, instead we have to sit in our big lazy-boy couches which will break every two years, just like everything else we purchase, just waiting for our next paycheck to come in so that we can spend it on our nice new things, THAT's IF we can afford them. Otherwise we're probably spending it on our kids, who are going to further populate the planet, causing massive overpopulation, and massive lack of natural resources!

    The best thing that can be said about such a world that has allowed such things to happen is that at least the planet has an extremely efficient manner of getting rid of such a selfish creature, and that method is EXTINCTION! While it was of my opinion in my youthful days that it would be dreadful to see such a thing within my lifetime, I can tell you that I'm hoping that that day will come sooner than later so that I will not have to witness the death of any of my own children, should I ever have any. I'd rather sit back and watch the world crumble below my feet than have it continue on in such decadence!
