  1. By Cosmo Close.

Picture if you will, a wind-swept beach in North Carolina
A wooden bird fly's, with man guiding it.
People gather in curiosity to view history in the making.
The Wright Brothers Just Wanted to Fly.

Picture if you will, a young child day dreaming.
A metal bird fly's, with the child guiding it.
    Dreams gather.
the child just wants to fly

Picture if you will, a smoky battle field.
A metal bird fly's, with a man guiding it.
Spirits gather as they make their accent to the heavens.
The generals just wanted to kill.

Picture if you will, a boy day dreaming.
A metal bird fly's, with the boy guiding it.
    Dreams gather.
the man just wants to fly.

Picture if you will, a wind-swept Hawaiian Beach.
Metal birds fly, with men guiding them.
Spirits gather as they make their accents to the heavens.
The patriots just want to kill.

Picture if you will, a man day dreaming.
A metal bird fly's, with the man guiding it.
    Dreams gather.
the man just wants to kill.

Picture if you will, a battle stricken city.
A metal bird fly's, with that very man guiding it.
Spirits gather as they make their accent to the heavens.
the man just killed, but the war is won.
The heart aches over, but at what cost.

Picture if you will, the future.
    It is a empty void.
    No life, nor love.
How long until we reach this point.
How long can we fly before our wings of wax melt.
Remember this, in the beginning, we all just wanted to fly.
