Here are my discoveries as to how to get the most kief out of your bud! Wondering if other people had any other tricks they wanted to share... 1. Good bud and good grinder always a must 2. Keep a clean penny in the initial catcher and spin it around after grinding herb, breaks it up even more and pushes it through screen. 3. I keep my grinder in the freezer. You wouldn't believe what a difference it makes, I get nearly triple the kief off my weed if my grinder is frozen when I use it! Tell me your thoughts if you decide to adopt my methods...
Yea thats crazy. I do the exact same thing, Penny and all. Haha yea it is a bitch putting that shit back in the freezer after using it. Heres a little trick i use to get the kief off the tray and into my lungs. Instead of using metal which im sure all you grinders owners know NOT to do, get an old credit card, or hard plastic card. You can cut it however you want it, but try to keep the side you scrape with the factory side, so its guarenteed to be closer to flat and level then your cutting hand. If you can. make a 45 degree angel, and run it along with the inside edge of your kief tray so its not only gets the corners good, but the side walls. Thanks bro for the info. I just grind my bud bup to a nice consistency, then shake the grinder a bit [lightly], and tap the sides while spinning the grinder around. You can also open the compartment where your grinded bud is, and just move the bud around the screen a bit. Over time you'll collect some of the purest kief on the planet. I haven't tried your penny method, I'll have to try that out.
no matter how good u clean it, currency is the dirtiest thing on earth. id never put that near my weed. and even if it was clean, id still not want money that could have been in a homeless persons ass. find something thats clean to use to do that, like a piece of plastic or something like that. i also dont really see what the freezer does... i just use a piece of a cut up shaws card to push all the kief to one side of my tray and then either into my glass roor jar or onto a bowl.
Yeah, well you are burning that shit, most harmful things are going to be destroyed by combustion. Anyways, doesn't really matter if its a penny, although I would use something heavier than a piece of a credit card. And putting your grinder in the freezer and taking it out before each use makes it kief like a mother fucker, nuff said.
I'm interested in this freezer theory. The only possible way I could see it making more keif, would be moisture would condensate on it when you took it out, and that moisture may make more keif stick to it. What's the reasoning to putting it in the freezer?
I believe the freezer is to stop the metal from making static electricity so that all the pollen with just fall through. because freezing lowers kinetic energy and friction which makes static electricity. now i could have just pulled that out of my ass or it could be brillant who knows?
freezer trick works wonders. almost doubles yield. i find tapping the side of the grinder works as well
I just grind like normal, but I make sure my screen is nice and clean by knocking out all the bits that are stuck.
i agree with you completely i keep a nickel in mine sometimes just to get a bunch of kief out of it and putting it in the freezr before grinding DEF helps
i keep my grinder beside my 12" subwoofer and everytime i play music loud it shakes the grinder for me : ) ill also keep a .5 in my grinder for this - edit - wow i just realized this thread is old as hell .. 2006

i get good bud and have a good grinder i use to do the freezer thing..instead of a penny i scrub the screen with a toothbrush every time before i grind and the reason your gettin more kief with a penny is cause the penny breaks the bud up into tiny pieces that pass through your screen so you end up with bud mixed with your kief...if you want do what i did take a toothbrush you dont use or buy a new one cut off the handle you wont need it just keep the head brush part and add it to your smoking kit and everytime before you grind just brush the screen
wouldnt tiny particles get lost from the brush like the little bristles being hard as they are i would imagine this happening
nah just wash it reall well before use! and you dont really have to scrub hard just lite brushes over the whole screen should do i have yet to see anything like that in my kief.if it does happen just look at it this way toothbrush particles vs copper pieces?
