Just wondering if some1 can help me figure out the wattage consumption for this set up. 4 - 1000W HPS 12 hours a day, 1 - 400W HID 18 hours a day. Basically i wanna know how many kilowatts ill be using in a month.

Its not hard buddy. Basically a kilowatt is 1000 watts. How many hours of continuous 1000 watts will you be using? so you have 4kwh times 12 hours which is 48kwh and .4 kwh at 18 hours which is 7.2 kwh. So you have 55.2 kwh per DAY. Now multiply that by 31 days since its worst case scenario and your gunna be using about 1711.2kwh a month. If a kwh for you is .10 cents, your bill will be 171.12 plus delivery charges which is about 30 percent of that added on. So look at an electric bill of 222.47 a month.

Not trying to be a smart ass but is this math correct? So, the total watts of the bulb=1hr of watts output? So 1000 watt bulb = 1kw per hour?

Yes 1000 watt bulb is equal to 1 kwh (kilowatt hour). So basically every hour you have a 1000 watt bulb on, ur spending your rate for one kwh + delivery rate. If you have a single 1000 watt on for 12 hours a day thats 12kwh from that one lamp. Since we have 4 1000 watt bulbs, multiply it by 4. and you get 48 kwh per day. 48kwh times the number of days in a month, 31, gets you the ttl kwh used in a month. Than just mulitply that by cost per kwh +delivery and you have ur electric bill... You have to do the same for the .4 kwh you use for the 400watt 18 hours a day.

see if this helps... i run 4 plants in a wilma hydro system, a 600 watt hps, 125mm fan/carbon filter and a 125w fluroesent light i use for the nursery stages and for side growth during veg and flowering. i have worked out the cost for the entire crop, from seed to harvest. let me know if you think i've done it wrong. here goes......... BADddd math.... .06 p kwh right for your rate? and a 600 watt which is .6 kw. 18 * .36 (not .o36) will give you the rite number of kwhs.... from there its the same math all over again i dunno ur maths fuckin weird... we americans don't do math like u do... lol just check it twice and if it makes sense.
