  1. what the general rule of water like how much water for a certain size pot?

Im just wondering cause all i ever see is water when soil is dry 1/5 inch below the surface that doesnt help on how much water i should be using.

  2. Cant really just go by the size of the pot, some soils retain more/less, and this also depends on your type of light/ventilation and age of the P

Two ways to tell is to stick your finger down in the soil and see if its dry a few inches down, if so, its proly time to water,
Another way is to memorize a completely dry pot's wieght, and a completely soaked pots weight, and youll know when to water by how light the pot gets.

  3. If you live in the states, your best bet is to go to your local ACE Hardware store, iif you have one. They have a little clay worm that changes color as water decreases, indicating when the plant needs water. You stick it in the soil a few inches from the plant and keep an eye on it. Theyre usually upfron near the registers.

  4. Be careful, as these worms dont work for the lower soil.

  5. The best way to do it is old school trial and error.

  6. you water until you see runoff. collect the runoff and test the ph to make sure your soil ph is ok.
