Watering/Feeding auto flowers?

  1. I can’t seem to find a straight answer on this. I have fox farm ocean soil and general organics nutes. When exactly should I water the seed, how many times a day and week? And do I feed all the nutes at once? Do I mix them then feed them? And how often a week for feeding? Thanks

  2. I'm that soil it shouldn't need nutrients for at least three weeks, but let the plant tell you when it wants them. As far as water, how old is it? Seedlings really don't need that much water

  3. Follow the guides for he nutrients I don't think you need any until she is at least two 1 week old to 2 weeks old....

As for the watering just use a little bit every 2 or 3 days for now

  4. I got a 5 gallon smart pot. Since it’s fairly big how much water would you add to it during vegetative and flowering stages. I’m guessing just as a seedling a sprayer will be fine until it comes up? Thanks

  5. I’m growing in FFOF with autos and just entered the 6th week (1 1/2 weeks into flowering), and I fed mine for the first time 1 day ago. It depends on the size of your containers. I’m growing in 5-gallon. When you do feed them, start with 1/4 strength of what is recommended.

  6. Did you add any perlite to your Ocean Forest soil? You need to add at least 20% per light to that mix. I added 30% to mine to ensure proper drainage and to promote oxygen to the roots. If you did not add any perlite, you will likely go longer between waterings because it will take longer for the soil to dry out.

Hopefully the strain you have chosen is not sensitive to that soil. Some strains do not like ocean forest because it can be a little hot to young seedlings.

Since you are growing in a 5 gallon pot, in my opinion and experience, you should not have to give that plant any food until the fifth week and you should be out of the vegetative cycle by then. That soil has enough nutrients in it to feed that plant through its vegetative cycle. So, when it’s time to feed and supply nutrients to the soil, do not supply with very much nitrogen. Focus on phosphorus and potassium.

I would recommend doing some reading on growing autos. I am a new grower, and I am just telling you my very recent experience with Ocean Forest and autoflowering plants. I did a ton of reading over the last few weeks, and discussed this issue with several experienced growers on the forum. I waited until my girls were nutrient deficient and looked all F’d up until I fed them and they are still recovering right now (I fed them last night and woke up to healthier looking plants this morning). I would recommend that you not make the same mistake I made. Feed at the end of week 5.
