hey im new to this and have just a question about my watering. i have a indoor plant under som cfls about 2 months old maybe a little older and its been on 12/12 since the end of the first month. Im doing lots of LST so it will grow long ways and not upward. also its in a grow box that you water from the bottom too. idk if thats very relevant im just saying. but i came home from work yesterday and checked on her and she was very droopy and wilty. i watered it and it perked up and is back to normal now but my question is how often should i be waerig it now that its getting bigger and more mature and in flowering? i read that it would be more than usual but i feel like i water it almost every other day now. and how should i go about using my ferts? ive been just using them every other time i water but now that im watering more idk if i should use them less or not. any advice or help would be great. thanks.
Feed your plants every other watering, they need P and K during flowering, but I give my plants a few shots of N every once in awhile during the flowering stage...among other things. I water almost every two days with my autos in 2 gallon smart pots...the root systems in my plants are much larger now, so they drink up all the water/food pretty fast. I like to stick my pointer finger in my soil, knuckle deep..if it's moist then I don't need to water, if it's dry then I water. You can also pick up your buckets when they are bone dry and remember how light they are...then water till your soil has absorbed it all, and pick up..remember how heavy this is now. In a day or two it should be as light as it was before the watering, this means it's time to water again.. Later man
I have been curious about how often to water as well. My temps stay at 78-84 with lights on/off and I have been watering every 7-10 days, im at day 16 of flowering. but I noticed that at 8 days after watering it seemed to be dry so im watering today.
my plant just drinks it up so quick and gets droopy in like 3 days. im thinking i might just not be giving it enough water when i water it
I was just about to recommend one of those meters, less than $20 for one. also there is always your finger. You can bury it into the soil about 2inches.
It's very important to have a good wet/dry cycle to give the roots an oxygen boost. Obviously you don't want the plants to wilt but if your able to water them right before they wilt its best. Also when watering make sure you give it a proper good soaking with plenty of run off to help rid and wash out the toxins that are excreted by the roots You won't ever really be able to stick to a time table because the speed the plant takes up water has way to many variables so will differ at times. It's as important to not water too early as it is to not water too late

The moisture meter i got has levels of dry, moist, and wet and i wasnt sure if i should always have it on moist or not. This was the kind of response i was hoping for. Thanks again.
