ok so i am very new to this, though i have been reading alot it seems i am having a problem knowing when to water and when not. i already lost one of my larger sprouts to obious over watering, leaves were drooping and the stem fell over. the roots out of the bottom of the organic pot were brownish. i have a 2nd large sprout. 2 inches tall with leaf span of 2 inches, 4 sets of leaves. the leave tips are curling down, and the leaf edges at stem are curling under. i believe i am not watering this one enough, yet not wanting to over water it. oh what a headache!!!!!!! i am growingg in a rubbermaid box with CFL 6500 temp is about 83 and humidity is 45-65. i have a fan blowing constantly on a 24/0 cycle. i was giving jumpstart as help, but now i am just using ph adjusted water. o and i am growing in soil edit: i took pictures but the battery on the cam died, i'll post after a few hours of charging
well if the leaves r turning brown and curling that could be nute burn. As far as the watering goes, just stick ur finger in the soil, if it's dry water it.
And just so you know mate, IF when you water you see water dripping out the bottom thats a sign to stop watering untill another day
kay here we are you can see no yellowing its not really unhealthy looking other then the curl. hard to keep the soil moist cus the stupid square pots. i dont like them no more because i think it lets to much moisture out threw the sides and bottom.... maybe thats my real issue... maybe thats why i am haivng a hard time watering. expecialy in the box with lights. what to ya'll think bout the curl though... normal? or what can i do better next time to avoid this.... i DEFINANTLY dont have a stretching issue any more though. after the one sprout died.
i been doing some reading and i found that its simply over watering. i guess when there this stage i should already be doingg the water every other day thing? 1 day soaked 2 days dry? any one have advice about how they water there lil guys in only 8 oz of dirt?
bump so i read in some one elses brand new thread that it is good to water one day and wait 1-2 days to water again.
