Now that they are starting to show pistils, you can give them more, try giving them a half gallon and see how they look
How big is the pot? What kind of soil is it? How dry is the soil now? How heavy is the pot? Do you get run through that isn’t drawn back up? Do your plants drupe a little before you water? All of these need to be answered before you will know if a qt is enough. I don’t water until the soil is dry to the touch two knuckles down. Occasionally I let them wilt a bit before I water and see how much it takes before it won’t uptake any more. Over watering is the biggest mistake you can make.
Lift or tilt the bucket. If it's heavy don't water. Let the plant actually wilt a bit. Lift the pot and get an idea of what it weighs dry. Now water like you mean it. Don't pussyfoot around with a squirt bottle. Fabric bags are a bit tougher to judge. And your wet spot mean the rest is likely to dry. The entire perimeter of the sides should go damp / wet when you water. Again lift if possible as weight is simplest for new growers and watering. BNW
