Im in my 6th week of flower and the unusual temps in my region caught me by surprise, I am putting frozen bottles in the res at my daily water check but it gets up to almost 80f and Ive been bringing it back down to 60f I haven't seen any ill affects yet but this cant be good! Any advise? And a pricey cooler isn't an option...TIA GC
We might be in the same.area is it bad for it to be warm in res I see no slime in.there but I will freeze some bottles as well
Temp is a controversal issue it seems. I have read from some very experienced growers where they did just fine in 80 degree res temps. Last summer I was at those levels, and I expect to run hotter with my new MH light. You have to watch root rot though... try a bit of Pondzyne (cheap!) to eat up any organic stuff in the res and convert it to O2. Available at any home depot type store that sells water features. A tiny amount goes a long ways... buy a small tub and you're set for life.
While temps are supposed to be in the ideal range, we know that mj is still a weed. I don't have good temps so I use beneficial bacteria to offset the bad temps AND put a few more airstones in the res. Increase the good bacteria and raise oxygen in the res and you should be ok.
I use hygrozyme for the bacterial environment, but I moved my res n drop a frozen 2 ltr in there .I found by reading there was too much conflicting info so I just made the call myself
Im using Dutch masters gold nutes and zone additive so hygrozyme or beneficial bacteria is not an option. Thanks for the input. The temps are staying down now. I added a Air conditioner I am almost there I'm gonna pick it soon.
What's dutch master gold and zone additive. Please enlighten me I added the a/c as well, I got good temps now I believe.I got 6 weeks left I'm counting down the days
So you use zone he says he doesn't use it anymore he uses bennies I'm assuming beneficial bacteria
That is correct.
To be quite honest I don't believe I have root rot I fixed my res temps with the quickness I just will go buy the shyt to prevent anything from going wrong. I put a lot into this and I need my first crop to come out righteous. Lights come on in 10 min I will snap some pics Hi zoome haven't seen you around in a while Thanks stryker you 2 have been really helpful in my post
Always welcome. I go mia at times. I get caught up in my own head lol. I will cruise the boards daily and not post. If you ever need help, don't hesitate to pm me
Sounds good I know everybody isn't free like me except when I'm not in school but Anywho there is Def some shyt on my roots not really slimy but feel like particles ill edit with a better pic in half a hour my phone battery don't have enough juice approaching week three of flower water change on tues as I make new batch every 10 days
Root rot maybe?
It doesn't look good my friend...I stand by my earlier advice, only now, I'd get it started asap.
A bottle of miller high life would be more appropriate don't ya think "smoke" Idk correct typing of that but I do know I will be equally as stoked around may 6th
Question:so its been determined I have a slight root problem and I am going to flush once with cleansing shyt like a h202 vinegar mix obviously with plants out. In ebb n flow there's always water in outter bucket I'm thinking of sucking all that out with hose attachment to carpet cleaner cleansing then starting over again with everything fresh and with some bennies from great white what do u think
