Water Soluble Silica

Discussion in 'Growing Organic Marijuana' started by OZs_786, Jun 19, 2019.

  1. What’s up, GC!
    If y’all aren’t familiar with me, I am O.Z.
I have a few threads on my organic grows, as I only started posting this year. I asked some basic questions, but just to follow up on one, do any of you use water soluble silica? If so, how do you use it in veg? I only plan on using it in veg but just wanted to know a good foliar or tea/feeding method. I definitely want to use it and I have a helpful amount of it, so I just want some of your guys’ thoughts and opinions.
Any help would be of help, thanks.

  2. I use it for veg and generally mix it with my kelp foliar. Many suggest premixed concentrate solution but the amounts I'm not certain would be the same for all brands. I use 1/2 tsp per gallon of AgSil and shake it well in a quart jar with water before adding it to my foliar spray container. I would really not recommend soil drenching with it as only a very small amount of the soil drench silica will ever be used through the roots. You will have much faster and higher absorption through the leaves.

    Best of wishes.

  3. I was thinking of something along those lines. Got some awesome yucca and kelp mix that I believe is water soluble as well. Thanks for the reply brother.

  4. I use Silica from Rice Hulls vs mineral sílice which raises PH very high. Grow-Sil Natural Silica

I use it all the time, veg and flower. A little goes a long way at 1/8th to 1/4 tsp per gal. I include it in all foliar sprays just about and even add it to my Res in flower, though you will have to scrub it clean every so often. When adding to a Res I use the 1/8th tsp ratio.
