Water pump

  1. Was lookin at a 10 gallon 6 plant drip system. Comes with a 130gph pump. What does this mean exactly? the container is 10 gallons but the pump says 130 gallons per hour? I don't understand. Someone please explain. Also, is a 130gph enough for a 10 gallon, 6 plant system?

  2. 130gph mean that if u had an unlimited amount of water, like a pool full of water, u could pump 130 gallons in 1 hour. in a recirculating system, u have a virtual unlimited amount of water to pump, so it should do about 130 gallons an hr. or 2.16gal per minute.

i dont know if that is alot but it sure sounds like alot of pump.

  3. yes the pump will be fine. i grew w/ a 6 plant drip system and that size pump could probably be used for 8 or 10 plants at least. but i guess it also depends on if it has to push the water a long way vertically out of the res too. but either way it'll work for your setup. :smoking:
