Water in spill tray

  1. I'm on my second run and seeing something I didn't on my first run. I'm using air-pots and plastic spill trays. The overflow water that collects in the spill trays is bright fluorescent green from algae. Didn't get that my first run, maybe just a tinge of green. I know it's from upping nutes, I was very light on nutes my first run. I'm just wondering if that will cause any future problems? The bottom of the airpots are above the water, not touching soil. Humidity is under control, no pest issues at all. Just the green water in the spill trays. 6 weeks into veg getting ready to flip. I've seen vids of people using aquarium pumps etc. to move water. If not an issue I won't waste time and $$. If it is an issue I'll do what I need to do. Thanks for any input.

  2. You could always add a tiny bit of clorox to kill algae.

  3. I tried airpots once had same issue I just used some rags to remove the excess water after feeding and they would air dry before algae has a chance to form

  4. Someone on GC mentioned using a mini shop vac to suck the runoff up.
